A Cloak Called Home

Seeker is a crossover fic between Destiny and Transformers written by Keltoi where the main character, a Guardian by the name of Lennox-2, is sent to Cybertron due to her sentient sniper rifle making a wish upon a reality-warping dragon. Now powerless and in a world she barely understands, she'll need to do what a Hunter does best, survive.

This is the second story in Sagittarius, a loosely-connected series of Destiny crossover fics that follow the members of Fireteam Sagittarius after they split up following Lennox's disappearance.

The story can be read on Archive of Our Own, SpaceBattles, and FanFiction.Net.

Seeker contains examples of:

  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Hawkmoon's wrist blades are as per Cybertronian standard, quite sharp, as they are superheated. Subverted against the Warpriest, then played straight again with the Taishibethi fold blade.
  • Action Girl: Lennox-2/Hawkmoon was a One-Man Army before becoming a multi-story tall robot capable of flight.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: The Eimin-Tin (and their larger Akildn variants) are an alien race Hawkmoon encounters that has their tails tipped with blades.
  • BFG: Hawkmoon's Shoulder Cannon. It is the Cybertronian equivalent of a sniper rifle.
  • Bird People: The Taishibethi are an example based on corvids.
  • Brought Down to Badass: The events that lead to Lennox-2 to become Hawkmoon leads to her losing her powers. however, many of her skills from her time as a Guardian do transfer, meaning she still is quite formidable.
  • Colony Drop: The Hive does this at the end of their introductory sequence, dropping a whole moon onto a world and completely annihilating it.
  • Conqueror from the Future: The Xol from Lennox's original timeline is trying to pull this by having Riven transport him and Lennox into the past as part of his plan to create a future where he's overthrown the other Worm Gods.
  • Continuity Porn: Keltoi puts in many nods to both Destiny and Transformers canon, usually as set dressing, or as a way to place the events of the story in the timelines for both continuities.
  • Doorstopper: While not as long as Stargazer, the story is still very lengthy with a total word count of over 350k.
  • Fantastic Caste System: Cybertronian society is organized based on their alternate forms, and what those alt modes can do. Fantastic Racism is common, as those who do more menial tasks, or those whose alt modes do not allow flight are discriminated against socially.
  • Fantastic Racism: Most Cybertronians are not fans of organics, seeing them as lesser for various reasons. Seekers are also generally racist to those of lower castes, especially if they can't fly.
  • Fantastic Vermin: Symbiotes, cybernetic life forms that resemble fauna in both form and function. Some can even talk.
  • Forgotten Fallen Friend: Averted. Lennox was emotionally devastated to learn that Gecko, her Ghost, was Killed Off for Real and frequently finds herself missing her Ghost as Hawkmoon.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite doing everything she could to warn the Taishibethi about the Hive, including confessing her nature as a time traveler to the Taishibethi Emperor, Hawkmoon fails to prevent the Taishibethi from being exterminated by the Hive like in canon.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: The Hive, as in the source material, obeys a Religion of Evil and seek to become the dominant species of the universe by killing everything else.
  • Reincarnate in Another World: After the Guardian Lennox-2 was killed by Riven during the Last Wish Raid, she was reincarnated by Vector Prime as the Cybertronian Hawkmoon on Cybertron during the Age of Rust.
  • Rule of Three: Seekers are organized into three-man formations known as trines.
