Tropes included in this fanfic are:

  • Abusive Offspring: Anakin's treatment of Obi-Wan is unhealthy at best. At worst, he treats Obi-Wan as a monster whose only use is to provide magic stat-boosting blood.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Shore Leave focuses on CMO Bones using his shore leave on Coruscant to go yell at the Halls of Healing, possibly avert a padawan's fall, begin to uncover a conspiracy, and hook up with Siri Tachi.
  • Adaptational Karma: Padmè and Anakin never faced any consequences in canon for the massacre of the Tusken tribe. Here, Anakin has been brought before the senate and questioned, while Padmè has lost her seat in the senate and been recalled to Naboo partially be cause of her attempts to cover up the massacre.
  • Afraid of Blood: Anakin treats Obi-Wan's need to drink blood as disgusting, shaming him for daring to drink out in the open while in the field. Later sections of Anakin's POV reveal that he has actually started to see Obi-Wan the same way he views Tusken Raiders.
    • Averted by Ahsoka and the Togruta colonists, who are carnivores who have to kill their food to eat it, treat Obi-Wan with more care and respect than Obi-Wan's own padawan.
  • All Myths Are True: Averted. Most, if not all, legends about vampires are false.
  • Black Market: While on shore leave, Cody discovers a vendor selling supposedly real vampire body parts. Luckily for the dealer, Obi-Wan turns up to point out they are just clever fakes, which keeps Cody from murdering the man.
  • Broken Pedestal:
    • Ahsoka toward Anakin and to a lesser extent, Rex.
    • Rex, also toward Anakin, to the point he considers requesting a transfer.
  • Easily Forgiven: Played with. Obi-Wan genuinely doesn't seem to realize Anakin has done anything wrong.
    • Averted with Rex. Cody hasn't forgiven him because words are cheap.
  • Fantastic Racism:
    • Vampires are hated and feared, while their blood and body parts are considered valuable alternative medicine. This results in a thriving black market, much to Cody's horror.
    • Jocobi towards the clones. He forces Cody, a Marshal Commander, to fetch his coffee.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Anakin. He's rapidly alienating the people who actually did like him in-universe.
    • As of Legal Fallout, he still has Padme, maybe.
    • As of Sanguine Days he has no one. Padme has surrendered their children to the temple, indicating she no longer believes they will raise them together.
  • Heal It with Blood: Vampire blood is widely believed to make people stronger if they consume it.
    • Obi-Wan actually gives his blood to the Togruta colonists on Kadavo in the hopes it will keep them alive.
    • Anakin and Rex take his blood when he's physically incapable of consenting.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard:
    • Palpatine has one of the 501st troopers and Admiral Jocobi steal Obi-Wan's blood for his own consumption. This immediately after Maul dies as a result of drinking Obi-Wan's blood.
    • Jocobi doesn't care to know the clones, so he doesn't notice that his attempts to keep Cody on the Vigilance have been thwarted by Cody borrowing someone else's armor.
  • Hypocrite: Anakin and Rex. They view Obi-Wan with disgust for needing to drink blood to survive, but will forcefully take and drink his blood for its supposed stat boosts.
  • I Reject Your Reality: Anakin appears to live in a completely different reality than everyone around him.
    • As of Home Front Anakin has taken this to new highs and the Senate is going with him.
    • To a lesser extent, Rex. Mostly due to how closely he works with Anakin. However, when confronted by his brothers and Ahsoka, he starts to shake this off.
    • In a tragic case, Obi-Wan. He thinks of Anakin as his brother and does not understand that Anakin sees him as a monster until Legal Fallout.
  • Inappropriately Close Comrades: Cody and Obi-Wan are in love, but Obi-Wan won't do anything about it until after the war since he is Cody's superior officer.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty:
    • Palpatine's death counts as this.
    • Anakin and Padme's runs out in Legal Fallout due to Palpatine's records mentioning Anakin's confession to the Tusken massacre in AOTC.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Bones compares Cody to Jango. Specifically, while he might have been justified in his anger at the beginning, he's held onto it well past the point of reason. And, since they had just been confronted with how far Jango would take his grudge, Cody decides he needs to let it go.
  • Redemption Rejection: Anakin. The epilogue reveals that he refuses to let go of his anger and begin healing even all these years later.
  • Smug Snake: Jocobi, the admiral who works with the 212th. Upon beginning his tenure, he gives Cody, the highest ranking clone in the GAR, his coffee order. Gets even worse when Obi-Wan surrenders command because of Anakin's baseless accusations.
  • Spider-Sense: Ahsoka's montrals vibrate when she's around someone dangerous. This is what clues her in to the fact that Anakin's concerns about vampires are overblown, since Obi-Wan doesn't cause this reaction.
  • Taking the Bullet: Rex does this for Obi-Wan when Tup's chip activates.
  • Unfriendly Fire: How Cody justifies the inquiry into Kadavo to Obi-Wan. If official action is not taken, then some of the men might take unofficial action.
  • Unwanted Assistance: Anakin insists on using his connections to get the inquiry into Rex's actions on Kadavo dropped despite Rex not wanting the help. This results in the inquiry system being done away with, taking away one of the few protections the clones have.
  • Voluntary Vampire Victim: Cody, after he discovers that Obi-Wan feeding directly from him hurts less and heals faster than bleeding into a cup.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Cody pulls this on Rex after Kadavo.
    • Rex punches Anakin in the face when he casually suggests they go get some of Obi-Wan's blood for an upcoming campaign, with the implication that Obi-Wan owes them his blood and has no right to refuse despite there being no evidence that vampire blood is anything more than a placebo.
    • Cody gets one from Bones when he refuses to visit a convalescing Rex, who had just taken what should have been a fatal blaster shot for Obi-Wan.
