Ronin contains examples of:
- Action Survivor: At first, Midoriya is terrible at structured fighting, and simply swings a pipe around. Later, he realizes his state as this, and learns proper sword fighting to rectify the situation.
- Badass Bookworm: Midoriya is both strikingly intelligent and capable, often using these traits in tandem to win fights.
- Destructive Savior: Any time the AEC (Anti Elephant Cannon, Anti Everything Cross) is used for heroism.
- Iaijutsu Practitioner: Midoriya's first move, the drawing cut. Eventually aided by the use of an explosive sheath for even more devastating attacks.
- Katanas Are Just Better: Ronin's weapon of choice. He does have other weapons, however little he may use most of them.
