Watch trailer here.

"Everyone knows that the lions of Voltron, Defender of the Universe, a mech made from the ore of a trans-reality comet, was sentient.

"But what no one could ever guess... was that they weren't the only ones.

"Sincline, abandoned in the Quintessence Field and thrown into Remnant, must discover what it truly means to be human. Accompanied by Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang of team RWBY, he will learn that not all as it seems.

"Will he finally discover the true meaning of his existence? How will the future of Remnant be affected by his appearance? Will team RWBY manage to bring about Sincline's true spirit?

"Read on as Sincline adventures through Remnant, flying through a journey of twisting secrets, sheer trust... maybe even love?"

Book 1. Book 2

This work contains examples of:

  • Action-Hogging Opening: The author created his own opening to the story. Here.
  • Adaptation Expansion: It was never implied that Sincline had his own consciousness like Voltron. Here, it's revealed he was aware of what was happening, though he had no control over his actions.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • The Hound from Volume 8 makes his appearance in No Breaks which takes place during Volume 2.
    • Maria Calavera makes her appearance after the end of Volume 2.
    • Saphoran Arc, Caroline Cordovin, and Ace Ops make their appearance several volumes earlier than in canon.
    • Robyn Hill and the Happy Huntresses appear several volumes earlier.
    • Salem shows up before the Season 3 finale, just after Sincline's first match.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Caroline Cordovin was an irritating person in canon, but here she's just downright antagonistic to everything Sincline says and does. She doesn't even get a moment to show off a more kinder side before she dies.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy:
    • Mercury. The guy grows to genuinely like the people he's supposed to be spying on, specifically Yang and Sincline.
    • Ace Ops as a whole seem to be a nicer more friendlier bunch than how they were in Canon.
  • Ascended Extra: Sincline went from being just a mech piloted by the main villain of a season to being the main protagonist.
  • Behemoth Battle: In Chapter 36, Sincline regains his original form and does battle with an Alpha Leviathan.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Sincline has a habit of dishing these out:
    • His first appearance has him wiping out a hoard of Grimm.
    • He wipes the floor with Team CRDL as part of his initiation into Beacon.
    • His first fight in the Vytal Tournament has him decimate the enemy team, his Aura only dropping down to 99%.
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • Caroline Cordovin dies fighting against the Leviathan.
    • Elm from Ace Ops dies in the Battle of Argus.
    • Marie dies after Tyrian Callows gives her a fatal wound.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation:
    • Vine Zeki dies during the Battle of Argus as opposed to his sacrifice to keep Mantle from being destroyed.
    • Jacques Schnee dies when Sincline cuts him down with his Scimitar as opposed to Ironwood vaporizing him.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Mercury decides to defect from Salem's side and join in with the heroes, freeing a captive Summer Rose.
  • Love Triangle: A brief one between Sincline, Ruby, and Weiss. Weiss eventually steps away because she can see how happy Ruby makes Sincline feel.
  • Mech vs. Beast: In Chapter 36, Sincline in his true form, battles an Alpha Leviathan in Argus.
  • Positive Friend Influence: Mercury's bonding with the boys of JNPR and Sincline, along with his growing bond with Yang seems to help Mercury become a genuinely good guy. Case in point, he abandons a mission from Cinder to help a lost little girl find her parents. He's also yet to tell Cinder and Emerald anything about Sincline, despite knowing who he truly is. As they enter the final stages for the Fall of Beacon, Mercury begins to feel doubt about his actions and whether they should go through with it, even trying to get Emerald to abandon the plan and Cinder. After Emerald tricked Yang into injuring him, which he did not know of, he decided to fully cut ties with them.
  • Properly Paranoid: Salem is weary of Sincline. Seeing that he's a formidable warrior that Ozpin has recruited, and begins to doubt that her subordinates will be able to gain the Fall Maiden's powers with him there, prompting her to send a Rift Creature she acquired to Vale to deal with him. Though she isn't too worried, believing he will fall like all the rest.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • Weiss and Blake work to push Sincline and Ruby together.
    • Sincline and Mercury work to get Jaune and Pyhrra together.
  • Ship Tease:
  • Shout-Out: Sincline's last name Yamato is a reference to both the Japanese Battleship and the sword from the Devil May Cry franchise.
  • Spared By Adaptation: Summer Rose is alive. Having been a captive of Salem for years till Mercury freed her.
  • Wham Episode:
    • The ending of Chapter 43 reveals that Salem has acquired a Rift Creature and sends the beast to Vale to deal with Sincline.
    • Chapter 57: Mercury defects from Salem's faction and reveals the truth to the heroes. Also Summer Rose is alive!
