Preservation
is a Wild Kratts fanfiction by Usami.
Everyone knows that to the Kratt Brothers, the only thing more important than protecting animals is protecting each other…and unfortunately a certain inventor has figured out how to turn it to his advantage. Can the Kratts team find a way to put an end to Zach's threats or will they lose one of their members forever?
Preservation provides examples of:
- Big Brother Instinct: Naturally demonstrated by Martin... and unfortunately weaponized by Zach to get him to comply with his demands.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Chris by the end of Chapter 5.
- Callback: Zach rather nastily calls back to “Let the Rhinos Roll”, taunting Martin about his apparent inability to differentiate between a Zach-bot and his brother.
- My Greatest Failure: Martin sees the events of “Let the Rhinos Roll” as his.
- Sadistic Choice: Zach gives the team one: help him collect animals for his usual purposes or he'll kill Chris.
- Strapped to an Operating Table: How Chris wakes up in Zach's hideout.
- True Companions: The Wild Kratts team. Zach uses it against them.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Aviva gives one of these to Martin, reassuring him that Chris won't blame him for everything that's happened and would probably have done the exact same thing had the brothers' positions been reversed.
