Izuku doesn't even get to the entrance exam, and Japan promptly goes to hell. Years later, a rebel attack leaves him a) dead, b) no longer quirkless, and c) with an opportunity to stop the League of Villains from taking over the country. As many opportunities as he needs, in fact. Wonderful! Great! Fantastic!

is a My Hero Academia For Want Of A Nail fanfiction by Trashfire(apocalypse_later)
New Game Plus (Ultra!) contains examples of:
- Adaptational Badass: This version of Izuku is very different from his canon counterpart, as he's been through enough traumatic events to not be the slightest bit fazed by a knife wielding man, outright intimidate a desperate mugger, beat an older woman with a mutation quirk using a metal baseball and, of course, mess with Bakugou while planing to commit arson.
- Adaptational Early Appearance: Since Izuku is tracking down the League of Villains in his subsequent runs, some members appear or get mentioned much earlier then in canon ex: Himiko Toga, Stain and Twice. The fact that time travel is involved also plays a role in this.
- Big Bad: The League Of Villains. Because of Izuku's absence from the canon plot-line they've gained much power incredibly fast and made everything go to hell in the world.
- Back from the Dead: Izuku's ability is to revive after suffering any type of death.
- Cliffhanger: Chapter 5.4.1. ends with a knife at Izuku's chest.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Izuku's attempted stalking of Himiko Toga Which ends with her stabbing him through the jugular and him dying. Again.
- Cynicism Catalyst: During Izuku's first run, rejection from UA and the fact he never met All Might made him slowly loose interest in the hero world.
- "Eureka!" Moment: Izuku gets inspired to hunt down Stain... from staring at bottles of stain remover.
- For Want Of A Nail: Since Izuku decides he'll rewrite his thirteenth Hero Analysis notebook, leaving school on time instead of spending precious minutes fishing out and drying it; leading to the boy never meeting All Might, gaining One For All or joining UA, causing all kinds of differences as a result.
- My God, What Have I Done?: After the gravity of what Izuku did to the Rat Villain finally hits him.
- Off on a Technicality: Izuku doesn't get arrested even though he sent a criminal to the hospital while in illegal possession of a knife thanks to this.
- Older Than They Look: Izuku biologically looks 15 but he's mentally 21.
- Resurrective Immortality: Izuku's quirk, except it operates as a videogame centered around him.
- Technically a Smile: When Izuku is so done of dying he flashes a terrifying smile to the poor man attempting to mug him.
