  • Big Bad: Robert Gruber, he's the master mind behind Ingrid's kidnapping and having taken from Brazil to America and attempted theft of her then unborn daughter Elsa. He still continues to hunt Elsa down.
  • Big Brother Instinct: The turtles develop this for Elsa.
  • Bilingual Backfire: A villainous version happens when shortly after meeting Sky, Donnie tells his brothers that he suspects that Sky killed Elsa's mother in Japanese, only for Sky to reveal that she can speak Japanese as well.
    • A variant happens in Chapter 8, Casey happens to walking pass Haru and Robert, while they're talking in Brazilian Portuguese. While Casey doesn't speak Brazilian Portuguese, he does record their conversation on his phone ans has it translated later on.
  • Birth-Death Juxtaposition: Shortly after Elsa's born, her mother, Ingrid is killed by Sky.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Elsa can do this for Mutants.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: In response to Haru flipping out of the phone with him, Haru's boss orders him to run a hundred laps, while listening to Sesame Street songs.
  • Dark Fic: Oh so much.
  • Doorstop Baby: A gruesome version. The turtles find Elsa in the sewers shortly after her mother gave birth to her and was killed by Sky.
  • "It" Is Dehumanizing: A variant. Before or even after Elsa was named, Robert refers to her as "the asset."
  • Kid Fic: It's still about the turtles taking care of a baby.
  • La RĂ©sistance: A Knight Templar version and a regular version. Elsa's father is apart of the regular version that trying to stop the Kraang, while Robert is in charge of a more Knight Temper version.
  • MacGuffin Super-Person: Due to her ability to reverse mutations, many different factions are after her: The Foot, and Robert's group.
  • No, Mr. Bond, I Expect You to Dine: Happens to Leo after he's capture by Sky.
  • Oh, Crap!: April has this reaction upon seeing Sky's group outside the manhole.
    • The Turtles have this reaction when Sky reveals that she can speak Japanese and understood what Donnie has been saying.
    • Marisol has one when she runs into the turtles when she runs into the turtles in Robert's building.
    • In some Flashbacks Ingrid gets more serious versions of this trope when she's first kidnapped form her home and then when Robert tells her that he's planing to take her baby from her when it's born.
    • Robert briefly has this reaction when he sees Haru waving to him in New York.
    • Timmy has this reaction when he sees Fishface standing in the middle of his wreaked home.
  • Original Character: Elsa, her parents Haru and his wife Ingrid. Robert and his group...
  • Psychic Powers: Elsa, her father and her cousin have them.
  • Sadistic Choice: Sky gives one to the Hamato Clan, either hand over an innocent baby or let Leo be sold to the highest bidder. Naturally, Raph, Donnie and Mikey choose to rescue him instead.
  • Tempting Fate: Upon learning that Elsa's family lives in Brazil, Raph mutters that it's unlikely that Elsa's dad is on his way to New York. Cut to Haru's plane arriving in New York.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Timothy of all people is this when he complains about Elsa turning him human again. A minion of Robert's, who has been cured by Elsa while she was still in the womb has shades of this as well. While the former does get better, the latter does not.
  • Wham Episode:
    • In Chapter four, Splinter discovers that Elsa can reverse the effects of mutagen after turns Timothy back to normal. Meanwhile the turtles meet Sky and captures Leo by the end of the chapter.
    • In Chapter eight, we learn just how Robert discovered then unborn Elsa's abilities. We learn that Haru and Robert are old friends(with Haru not realizing that Robert's responsible for his misery). Also we learn that Elsa may or may not be fully human.
  • We Can Rule Together: During the turtle's escape, Sky's offers the turtles the chance to work together since they both to stop the Kraang. Understandably, after being captured by her group and nearly sold. Leo tells her to take her offer and stick it.
