Keep on Running is a Doctor Who fanfiction by East_Of_Akkala centering around Echo!Clara Oswald's mostly-unseen adventures during The Name of the Doctor. Specifically, it focuses on her interactions with Jamie McCrimmon, as she runs into him again and again.

It can be read in its entirety here.

Keep On Running provides examples of the following:

  • All There in the Manual: East Of Akkala features a few author’s notes in and around chapters, including explanations of a few names and stylistic choices and the fate of at least one echo!Clara.
  • And the Adventure Continues: The story ends midway through Jamie’s first meeting with non-echo Clara, making it clear that they have at one more adventure forthcoming.
  • Arc Words: In the three chapters from Clara’s perspective, “Save the Doctor”.
  • Bolivian Army Ending: Chapters 2 and 3 both end like this. In Chapter 2, Zetakid Echo!Clara holds off prison guards in this manner, unsure of whether or not she’ll get a rescue. In Chapter 3, Moor Echo!Clara faces down a yeti with a sword.
  • Dying Moment of Awesome: According to an author’s note, the ending of Chapter 3 is this for Moor Echo!Clara.
  • Mistaken Identity: A brief case in Chapter 1 when Cave Echo!Clara is looking for the Doctor and runs across an attractive young man with bizarre manners and weird dress sense who immediately moves to protect her from danger and clearly has experience with strange events. She thinks it’s the Doctor (clearly based on Eleven) and kisses him. It’s actually Jamie.
  • Running Gag: In the three chapters from Clara’s perspective, it’s thinking about on people’s strange clothes, twice Jamie’s and once the Second Doctor’s.
  • Shout-Out: Zetakid was named for a planet from the author’s file of Spore.
  • This Is Reality: “What does this look like, a science fiction movie?” Said by Zetakid Echo! Clara to Jamie about why an emergency transmat device can’t take both of them to safety.
  • Wistful Amnesia: Jamie is experiencing it in Chapter 3 (set after his canonical mind-wipe by the Time Lords in The War Games): he wanders the moor, cries at night, and generally appears to be missing something.
