In 1990 the famous band Jem and the Hologram's finally disbanded. The music scene was straying from their brand of '80s pop and so the band decided to go out with a bang. And a bang they did go out with: Jerrica revealed to the world that she, the manager of the band, had actually been Jem the entire time.
20 years later, Jerrica Benton reunites her band and throws a party. It's a huge reunion and, as always, The Misfits and The Stingers are not far behind. Or more specifically, their children. More than a few unexpected (and unwanted) guests turn up to the party.
Glitter Reunion provide examples of:
- Always Identical Twins: Averted with Kimber's daughters Amber and Selene. They're fraternal twins.
- Breakup Makeup Scenario: Rio and Jerrica broke up during the prologue. Cut to 2010 and their daughter mentions they got back together the following year.
- Chick Magnet: Raoul inherited Riot's ability of attracting women.
- Dating What Daddy Hates: Jerrica's a bit ambivalent towards Zoie dating Riot and Rapture's son. However, Raoul didn't inherit his parent's womanizing or conniving attitudes.
- Dude Magnet: Despite her youth, Therese already shows her mother's allure.
- Even the Guys Want Him: Raoul is the spitting image of Riot in his prime. He has a lot of fanboys.
- Fan-Created Offspring: Jerrica and the Jem cast are the main characters, but their teenage and adult children are also major characters:
- Jerrica and Rio have a son and daughter named Michael and Zoie, while Kimber and Sean have twins named Amber and Selene. Aja and Craig have two kids named Liam and Kana, Shana and Anthony have three kid named Maureen, Anton, and Dinah, and Raya and Luis have two kids named Rebekah and Esteban.
- Pizzazz has a daughter named Delphina, Roxy has a daughter named Kylie, Jetta has a daughter named Simone, and Stormer has a son named Holden.
- Riot and Rapture have a son named Raoul, while Minx has two kids named Christoph and Therese.
- Several of the supporting characters have children as well. For example, Eric has two sons named Eric Jr. and Malcolm, Danse has a son named Serge, and Ba Nee has a daughter named Hien.
- Flash Forward Fic: Takes place twenty years after the canon, with Jem and the Holograms having broken up in 1990 due to their dated sound and Jerrica revealing her identity as Jem.
- Generation Xerox: The cast has kids who are mainly interested in music, like their parents. They also have similar personalities.
- Strong Family Resemblance: Raoul looks a lot like his father. They're so similar even Jerrica swoons a little.
- Two-Person Love Triangle: Deconstructed. In 1990, Jerrica told Rio the truth about her being Jem. They ended up breaking up because Rio felt like he had been toyed with.
- Used to Be a Tomboy: Ashley isn't as tomboyish as she was 20 years ago.
- Wham Line: The Misfits and Stingers crashed the Hologram's reunion specifically to coax them out of retirement:Silence followed her outburst. The Misfits stared at Jerrica in silence, as did the Stingers.
Then… Pizzazz let out a violent cheer.
"We did it!" cried Roxy.
"Jem and the Holograms are back!" cheered Stormer.
"We finally have our competition back!" said Jetta.
