Amity Park: A Nice Place to Live
is a Danny Phantom and Supernatural crossover by Spearmentalist.
In this story, after an encounter with a new type of ghost, Sam and Dean travel to Amity Park to get more information from Jack and Maddie on Bobby's advice. Once there, they learn about the Fentons trying to build a portal to the Ghost Zone and attempt to sabotage it. Although initially the sabotage seems to have been a success, all they ended up doing is unwittingly setting the stage for Danny to have his accident and become half-ghost. Then, several months later, they return to the ghost-infested town....
Amity Park: A Nice Place to Live contains examples of:
- Atrocious Alias: Neither Danny nor the Winchesters think "Inviso-Bill" is a very decent moniker. The former is even seriously considering personally talking to Lance about it.
- Conditioned to Accept Horror: When Sam and Dean return to Amity, they're baffled by how most of the citizens seem to be surprisingly at ease with the ghosts everywhere. Sam's best theory is that it happened slowly enough that most people just got used to it.
- Fusion Fic: The casts and beings of both Danny Phantom and Supernatural exist in the same world.
- Lazy Alias: When investigating Casper High, Sam and Dean pretend to be Board of Education agents Abercrombie & Fitch. This is lampshaded more than once, and only works because Principal Ishiyama has apparently never heard of the store.
- One-Steve Limit: Sam Manson and Sam Winchester are both major characters in the story.
- Our Ghosts Are Different: The ghosts endemic to Amity are very different from the usual ghosts that the Winchesters usually encounter. For starters, they're more corporeal, and salt does not affect them.
- Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: Principal Ishiyama has never heard of Abercrombie & Fitch.
- Salt Solution: As it turns out, salt circles can be used to trap Amity ghosts.
- Small Role, Big Impact: The ghost Sam and Dean fight in the beginning of the story, which sends them to Amity Park and leads to Danny having his accident due the Winchesters sabotaging the portal.
- Stalker without a Crush: Wes is obsessed with proving that Danny is Phantom, to the point of stalking him.
- Walking Techbane: In a video clip the Winchesters see, Danny seemingly causes a news camera to glitch out when he gets close to it, and it's not the first time. This trait, unfortunately, prevents him from getting the word out about how he hates his Atrocious Alias. Or what his chosen alias is.
