A Young Vampire's Everyday Life
by Deviatesfish is a historical SI Hellsing fanfiction that deals with the youngest daughter of the Julii family, found to be a vampire in the vein of Alucard, as she goes about her life in late Republican Rome.
This Fanfiction contains examples of:
- Cavalry of the Dead: Twelve legions of dead Romans, led by the recently deceased Lucius Cornelius Sulla, respond to the Gallic invasion led by Lepidus.
- Cloudcuckoolander: Julia, not helped by all the dead people feuding within her soul.
- Mundane Fantastic: While most Romans are appropriately wowed by Julia's feats, those like Sulla and her students don't have particularly strong reactions. Not even when she brings out flaming lions.
- Mundane Made Awesome: By contrast, Lepidus is very impressed with the searchlights he and his people reverse engineered from Archimedes' tomb.
- One-Steve Limit: In true Roman fashion. For example, the main character and both of her sisters are named Julia while her brother and father are both named Gaius. Even characters long dead are not safe from being mixed up with their contemporaries as Lucius Junius Brutus (who overthrew Tarquin the Proud at the end of the old Roman Kingdom) appears just one scene after his descendant Brutus the Elder with both being referred to by that one name.
- Strange Minds Think Alike: Gaius is perhaps the only person to understand his sister, actually getting her intentions while her students keep misinterpreting what she says.
