* NotInFrontOfTheKid: [[OverprotectiveDad Mark]] tells Trevor not to swear in front of Velvet, who uses a PrecisionFStrike to return to their previous topic of conversation.

* SurveillanceAsThePlotDemands: The MagicalSecurityCamera footage visible on Professors Ozpin's and Goodwitch's [[EverythingIsAnIPodInTheFuture scrolls]] is explained in this fic as being provided by remote drones. Ruby points out to Miltia that they are used to record class excursions into the forest; Ozpin tries to use the footage to determine whether Ruby's impalement of Miltia was [[DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength accidentally excessive force]] or [[MakeItLookLikeAnAccident intentional attempted murder]], but he had to split the drones to watch four [=1v1=] battles between Teams RWBY and MAVM, and the one watching the Ruby vs. Miltia fight didn't get a good enough angle for Ozpin to deny Ruby reasonable doubt.
