Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Slipstream Null and Void is an entry in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. Much like the other games in the series, you play as a human turned into a Pokémon and sent to a new world inhabited exclusively by them. Unlike all of the other games in the series however, the world you are sent to is a futuristic city, decked out across a mile-wide Pocket Dimension, and is home to the Interuniversal Slipstream Union, or ISU, an organization dedicated to exploring other dimensions, or "branes", and researching what you come across in them.
We are ready to begin the troping procedure.
- Alternate Dimension: Branes, this games version of dungeons, are like this.
- Adventure Guild: The ISU is a cross between this and The Republic.
- Cassette Futurism: The games aesthetic is vaguely reminiscent of this, with black scrolling-text screens and clunky architecture.
- Cyberpunk
- Darker and Edgier: Goes without saying.
- The Multiverse
- Player Personality Quiz: The opening of the game is a fully diagetic version of one, presenting itself as a recruitment program for the ISU.
- We Will Spend Credits in the Future: The ISU's de-facto currency is UC, or "union credits".
