Being one of the biggest independent horror successes of video gaming, Dead by Daylight has seen fit to bring in multiple outside parties to join the fun.

    Chapters
  • On October 25th 2016, The Halloween Chapter was released as a paid DLC, which adds Michael Myers as a new killer and Laurie Strode as a new survivor alongside the new free map, Haddonfield.
  • On March 8th 2017, The free "Left Behind" half-chapter was released. The update crossed Dead by Daylight with, rather unexpectedly, Left 4 Dead, adding William "Bill" Overbeck as a whole new survivor with outfits based on other Left 4 Dead characters (Ellis, Zoey, Rochelle, and Francis) for the original four survivors along with a T-shirt for every survivor in the game at that time (except Laurie, Ace and Bill) that had the iconic four-fingered zombie hand on it that was given to those who own Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2.
  • On September 14th 2017, the LEATHERFACE DLC was released, which added the character of the same name.
  • On October 26th 2017, The A Nightmare on Elm Street chapter was released, adding Freddy Krueger as a killer, Quentin Smith as a survivor and Elm Street as a new map.
  • On January 23rd 2018, the Saw Chapter was released, adding Amanda Young as a new killer, David Tapp as a survivor, and the Gideon Meat Plant as a new map.
  • On April 2, 2019, Ash Williams from Evil Dead was added as a survivor.
  • On mid-June, 2019, The Ghost Face dropped. Differing from other licensed killers, though, this one is actually not based off any of the killers from the Scream franchise, but is actually a completely original character that just happens to use the mask. This is because the license the team secured was for the mask, not the movies. This is also part of the reason why the killer dropped without an accompanying map or survivor.
  • In September of 2019, they crossed over with Stranger Things, adding the Demogorgon as a Killer, both Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler as Survivors, and the Hawkins National Laboratory as a map. 2021 later added Jonathan Byers as a playable character through a DLC skin for Steve. Unfortunately, this also became the first chapter where Behaviour lost the license after Netflix declined to renew their contract, removing it from sale.
    • In November 2023, Netflix renewed the contract making the Stranger Things chapter available for purchase again with the content added back into the game.
  • In June 2020, they crossed over with, to the surprise of many, Silent Hill, adding Cheryl Mason and the Pyramid Head as playable characters and the Midwich Elementary School as a map. Lisa Garland was also added in the form of a Legendary set for Cheryl.
    • September 2020 saw the addition of Cybil Bennett as another Legendary for Cheryl.
    • October 2021 introduced James Sunderland to the fog as another Cheryl legendary.
    • August 2023 added Maria to the roster of legendary Cheryl sets.
  • In April 2021, Resident Evil was announced to be joining the realm of the entity, as part of RE's 25th anniversary. This includes Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine as Survivors (with Chris and Claire Redfield, respectively, playable through alternate costumes), Nemesis as a Killer, and the Raccoon City Police Department from Resident Evil 2 as a map.
    • August 2022 saw the game crossover with Resident Evil again, this time adding Rebecca Chambers and Ada Wong as Survivors and Albert Wesker as a Killer, alongside a remake of the pre-existing Raccoon City Police Department map. In addition, Carlos Oliveira, Sheva Alomar and HUNK were also made playable via alternate costumes for Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine and The Legion respectively.
    • January 2023 saw the addition of another Resident Evil villain in the form of an alternate costume; William Birkin, in his "G" form, for the Blight.
  • August 2021 revealed that Pinhead from Hellraiser was coming to the Entity's realm to play... and he brought along some toys straight from Hell itself.
  • In December 2021, it was revealed that The Ring would also be part of the Entity's game starting in March 2022, represented by Sadako herself, as well as an adult Yoichi Asakawa as her Survivor counterpart.
  • In August 2023, it was revealed that the world of Alien would be colliding with Dead by Daylight. The chapter introduces the Xenomorph and Ellen Ripley to the roster of Killers and Survivors, along with the wreckage of the Nostromo as a new map. Cosmetics released alongside the chapter included Ellen's clone, Ripley 8, along with the Xenomorph Queen and Alien vs. Predator's specific Xeno, "Grid".
  • In November 2023, Chucky himself has decided to make an appearance in the Fog to play more games with the Survivors, with one of the announced cosmetics also being his wife Tiffany.
  • In January 2024, to the surprise of many, another person has been written into the Realm of the Entity - none other than Alan Wake, alongside Saga Anderson from Alan Wake 2 as a Legendary skin.
    • February 2024 saw another Alan Wake character, Rose Marigold, emerge into the Fog as a Legendary as well.

    Cosmetic-Only Collaborations
  • May 4, 2021, saw unique skins from Crypt TV being added to the game. The Hag can become The Birch-Witch, the Doctor can become the Look-See, and the Huntress can become the Mordeo.
  • In July 2022, rather surprisingly, Attack on Titan joined the roster of licensed content in the form of a collection of outfits themed around Attack on Titan characters. On the Survivor side, Dwight, Yui, Jake, Meg, Felix, Kate, Zarina and Ace got skins based on Eren, Mikasa, Levi, Annie, Armin, Historia, Hange and Kenny respectively while The Oni and Spirit got skins based on the Armored Titan and the War Hammer Titan respectively. Like the Stranger Things chapter, the collection was removed from sale almost a year later in July 2023.
  • October 31, 2023 saw the titular Villain Protagonist of Naughty Bear be added to the game as a Visceral Legendary outfit for The Trapper in a bit of Company Cross Referencing.
  • November 28, 2023 introduced Rainbow Six Siege to the realm of the Entity in a collection of outfits. Felix Richter and Adam Francis received cosplay outfits of Blitz and Wamai respectively, while Renato got a Legendary to transform him into Tubarão. Anyone who purchases any of the outfits also receives a R6 Key Chain charm.
  • 2024 saw the release of various cosmetics themed on two metal bands:
    • In February, Iron Maiden was brought into the realm of the Entity with Legendary sets for The Doctor, The Oni, The Dredge and The Deathslinger transforming them into the various looks of Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie. All non-licensed survivors released prior to the collection (up to Gabriel Soma) also received Iron Maiden band shirts to wear.
    • In March, Slipknot also joined the Fog with masks based on the various band members for Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Doctor, Clown, Deathslinger and Blight, alongside a full outfit for The Legion.

    Events
  • For Halloween 2021, For Honor introduced various cosmetics from DBD as rewards in an Event Mode which had the Trapper hunting all the players, and in trade, DBD received a For Honor knight's helm charm; it also helped serve as inspiration for the later wholy original character of the Knight.
  • Another surprise crossover came in October 2022, which saw the Entity's realm leaking over into PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. PUBG got the lion's share of additions such as multiple cosmetics based on DBD and limited-time game modes, but in trade, DBD received a frying pan charm and an outfit for Dwight based on the character used in PUBG's box art.
