Sōichirō Yamamoto (山本 崇一朗, born May 31, 1986) is a Japanese manga author and artist.

Born and raised in the town of Tonoshō in Shōdoshima, Kagawa Prefecture, Yamamoto was a Kyoto Seika University Faculty of Art graduate. He worked as an assistant to manga author Yukio Katayama before writing several one-shots, eventually making his full-fledged debut as an author in 2013 with his manga series, Teasing Master Takagi-san, which received four manga spin-offs, an anime and movie, and a live-action adaptation.

Yamamoto has a Twitter account where he often showcases drawings of his characters, either drawn by him or by fans.

  • Breakthrough Hit: Teasing Master Takagi-san was what essentially kickstarted his career as a manga author.
  • Creator Thumbprint: Fans are quick to highlight Yamamoto's art style due to the Forehead of Doom that is featured with many of his characters, especially with Takagi, Tsubaki, and Urushi. It got to the point where these three are collectively known as Yamamoto's "Forehead Trio".
  • Reclusive Artist: To a degree. While some aspects of Yamamoto's life are known, such as where he was born and raised, where he went to school, and his family, he's never shown his face in any capacity.
