Dame Jane Elizabeth Ailwên Phillips, DBE (born May 14, 1933 in Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Glamorgan, Wales), known professionally as Siân Phillips, is a Welsh actress.
A stage veteran famous for her husky alto voice, chiseled looks and arch, regal bearing, she's perhaps best known for the role of empress Livia in the BBC miniseries I, Claudius (1976), for which she won a TV BAFTA award.
She was married three times, including to fellow actor Peter O'Toole from 1959 to 1979, and was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire at Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Honours for her services to drama in 2000.
