SBS Viceland, formerly known as SBS2, is an Australian digital channel and spinoff of SBS for young people (in other words, the 16-39 audience). This began on 1 April 2013, as SBS2, when it was designed to help SBS keep the young audience it attracted when it first brought South Park to Australia in the ‘90s, or when it aired controversial documentaries like Go Back To Where You Came From.
SBS Viceland is very diverse in what it airs. It has aired adult cartoons, cult comedy like Community, and Japanese Game Shows like Ninja Warrior or VS Arashi are common. The anime it had broadcast tends to be quite dark, like AKIRA and Attack on Titan. From Chinese action flicks to French zombie movies to erotic Korean Drama, if you’re looking for something a bit out there, they probably got something for you.
SBS Viceland also shows lots of football, cycling and netball, and continues with most of pre-rebrand SBS Viceland's international foreign-language news broadcasts before 6pm.
