Rose Lilian Hill, (5 June 1914 — 22 December 2003), was a British actress best known for playing Madame Fanny La Fan in 'Allo 'Allo!.
She started her career as a soprano, but moved to TV and film starting with The Bank Raiders in 1958, with her final acting role coming in 1994 in an episode of A Touch of Frost.
In 1982, she was cast as Madame Fanny La Fan in 'Allo 'Allo!. Although Madame Fanny was depicted as an ancient, bedridden old woman, Hill wasn't much older than Carmen Silvera, who played her on-screen daughter Edith. Although she missed five episodes in Series 5 ("The Camera in the Potato", "The Dreaded Circular Saw", "The Reluctant Millionaires", "Flight to Geneva" and "Train of Events"), and two each in Series 7 and 9 ("Soup and Sausage", "René of the Gypsies", "Gone with the Windmill" and "A Tour de France"), she stayed with the series until it ended in 1992.
She died at the age of 89.
