"The problem I have with this film is that it's set about 1945 and people think I made it in 1945!"

Patrick Mower, born Patrick Archibald Shaw, (12 September 1938), is a British actor best known for playing Rodney Blackstock in Emmerdale.

When he was still a relatively unknown actor, he auditioned for the role of James Bond, but was turned down as he wasn't old enough.

He first rose to prominence in The '70s, as James Cross in Callan, which was followed by appearances as Detective Chief Inspector Tom Haggerty in Special Branch, Detective Superintendant Steve Hackett in Target, Sergeant Leonard Able in Carry On England, and a regular role as a panelist in Whodunnit? (UK).

Some of his smaller TV roles included guest appearances in Bergerac, Jason King, Minder, Space: 1999, The Sweeney, and UFO (1970).

He has played Rodney Blackstock in Emmerdale ever since 2000.
