Michelle Marie Pfeiffer (born April 29, 1958) was the It Girl of film in the 1980s and 1990s, having become famous through her earlier roles like the sequel ''Film/{{Grease 2}}'' and ''Film/{{Scarface|1983}}''. She was inactive in the film industry for a few years, having taken time off to spend time with her children and husband, Creator/DavidEKelley. Recently, however, she has been in a rather quick career revival, having picked up four films during 2011-2012, including the all-star movie ''Film/DarkShadows''. She continues to work in television and film.

!!Provides examples of:
* ActionGirl: In ''BatmanReturns'' and ''DangerousMinds''.
* TheCameo: Has an uncredited one on a ''Series/PicketFences'' episode (her husband was the producer).
* CareerResurrection: Got the role in ''Film/{{Scarface|1983}}'', despite ''Film/{{Grease 2}}''.
** She took some time off in the early 2000's to raise her children and just enjoy motherhood. She made a triumphant return to acting in 2007, with roles in ''Film/{{Stardust}}'' and ''Film/{{Hairspray}}''.
* CelebrityResemblance: Early in her career, she describes getting mistaken for Debbie Harry from {{Music/Blondie}}. Harry later said she'd love for Michelle to play her in a movie. This was more implicitly acknowledged in ''Film/Hairspray'', which has Pfeiffer filling in for Harry as Velma.
* DefrostingIceQueen: In some of her films. ''Film/IAmSam'' for one, where she starts off as a pretentious bitch and becomes, well, much kinder in the end. Her role in ''Film/DarkShadows'' could be considered this too, as her attitude toward the protagonist becomes much warmer as the movie goes on. It was also attempted in ''Scarface''.
* DoingItForTheArt: Once famously said she would act for free, the money just being compensation for being in the public eye.
* FemmeFatale: In ''Film/BatmanReturns'', and possibly considered this in ''Film/{{Wolf}}'' too.
* FlatWhat: When Creator/MatthewVaughn was casting for ''Film/{{Stardust}}'', he said his first and only choice for the role of Lamia was Michelle. When he met with her to convince her to do the role, he admitted that the film that inspired him to want to cast her was....''Film/{{Grease 2}}''.
--> '''Michelle:''' "I thought he was pulling my leg. He was interviewing me for Esquire (magazine) and he goes, 'Guess what my favorite movie of yours is?' And I jokingly said, 'Grease 2?!' And he was like, 'Yeah!' And I'm like, 'Seriously?!' "And it was my work in that movie that made him want to work with me!"
* GoshDangItToHeck: Parodied when she was on Series/TheGrahamNortonShow. She was about to censor herself and Graham asked what word she intended to use. She claimed it was 'hell'.
* HiddenDepths: If anyone watches her musical roles, they'll find that her singing voice is lovely.
* HollywoodHomely: In ''Frankie & Johnny'' where she's just given greasy hair. It should be said that the role was played by Kathy Bates originally on the stage. Subverted in ''I Could Never Be Your Woman'' where she thinks she's this but it's really IAmNotPretty.
* IceQueen: ''Film/{{Hairspray}}'', ''Film/{{Scarface|1983}}'', ''Film/WhiteOleander''.
* InkSuitActor: Subverted in ''ThePrinceOfEgypt'', where she voiced Moses' wife Tzipporah - a former slave who is animated to look [[AmbiguouslyBrown almost African]].
* KickTheWrongDog: Once (in RealLife) kicked her car in frustration after she couldn't unlock the door. She was very embarrassed when the ''real'' owner came along and she realized it was a lookalike car.
* OldShame: Considers several of her films (specifically ''Film/{{Grease 2}}'', ''A Thousand Acres'', and ''Film/ICouldNeverBeYourWoman'' to be disappointments. She has also gone on record stating that as a rule she only watches her films once, and that is it. Averted with ''One Fine Day'', which didn't do well but she believes it's a good movie nonetheless.
* SelfDeprecation: Says she once showed her kids ''Grease 2'' and they only lasted twenty minutes before turning it off.
* ShoutOut: Gets name-dropped in two separate hit songs from 2014-2015: "Riptide" by Vance Joy and "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars & Mark Ronson.
* StarDerailingRole: ''Film/{{Grease 2}}'' infamously almost cost her a role in ''Film/{{Scarface|1983}}''.
* ThoseTwoActors: Did three films with Robert De Niro - ''Stardust'', ''New Year's Eve'' and ''Film/TheFamily''. She joked that she was excited to work with him the first two times...only to discover they had no scenes together.
* WhipItGood: She is quite skilled with a whip. She did her own whip scenes as Catwoman in ''Film/BatmanReturns''.
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: Enough that ''People Magazine'' voted her most beautiful woman ''six'' times. She won once.
* WrenchWench: When she's not working, she loves fixing things around the house. She even has a tool belt.
