Johanna Wokalek (born March 3, 1975 in Freiburg im Breisgau, West Germany) is a German actress of Romanian (Transylvanian) descent.
She studied acting under Klaus Maria Brandauer among others, and she received critical recognition and three newcomer awards for her performance in the play Rose Bernd, then gained further notice with her roles in Aimée & Jaguar in 1999 and Hierankl in 2003.
She went on to play several award-winning roles in films such as Til Schweiger's Barfuss and especially Uli Edel's The Baader Meinhof Complex, as Red Army Faction leader Gudrun Ensslin. She's also narrated some audiobooks.
She's married to German violonist and conductor Thomas Hengelbrock.
