Jeffrey Patrick "Jeff" Kinney (born February 19, 1971 in Fort Washington, Maryland) is an American children's author and cartoonist best known for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series. He also created the original Diary of a Wimpy Kid webcomic that served as the basis for the books, and developed the kids web game Poptropica.
