Henri Émile Georges Marie Désiré Virlogeux (March 22, 1924 - December 19, 1995) was a French actor and voice actor.
He first ambitioned to study law, then chose acting, learning with the lessons of Charles Dullin and taking up stage comedy acts in Parisian cabarets. He then collaborated on stage works with the likes of Robert Hossein and Jacqueline Maillan.
He appeared in about 50 films and about a hundred TV productions (including the 1972 production adapting The Accursed Kings), and worked on the dub of several films, including no less than two prominent Star Wars roles, Grand Moff Tarkin in A New Hope and Emperor Palpatine in Return of the Jedi. Georges Claisse would later replace him as Palpatine starting in 1999.
