Evolution Studios was a British video game developer based in Runcorn, Cheshire. It was founded in 1999, acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in September 2007, and shut down on 22 March 2016. They were well known for making games based on the World Rally Championship.

The development team of the late studio joined Codemasters on 11 April 2016, becoming Codemasters Evo, but after low sales of their next game, ONRUSH, some of the staff were laid off and Evo became a support studio for the company called Codemasters Cheshire. On 12 May 2022, Electronic Arts, who bought out Codemasters in 2021, announced that they merged Codemasters Cheshire into Need for Speed and Burnout developer Criterion Games, officially becoming a second studio for the latter as they had already been working together on the next Need for Speed game for a while.
