Eleanor Bron (born 14 March 1938 in Stanmore, Middlesex) is an English stage and screen actress. Attending Cambridge University, she was the first woman to join their famed comedy revue show, the Cambridge Footlights. She is best known for Help!, Bedazzled (1967), and A Little Princess (1995).
Bron has family roots in the music industry. Her father, Sydney, who changed the family name from “Bronstein”, ran Bron’s Orchestral Service. Her older brother, Gerry, was a band manager and record producer who worked with The Bonzo Dog Band and Uriah Heep, among others.
