!!This comedian provides examples of:
* BlackComedyRape: Made a joke towards a female heckler that it'd be funny if she got raped after the show after she said rape wasn't funny. Some seem to see this as [[DudeNotFunny going too far]] on his part, though [[http://www.boston.com/ae/tv/blog/2012/07/daniel_tosh_apo.html others]] say the truth was stretched on her part.
* DontExplainTheJoke: Averted with particularly obtuse jokes and references, which he explains in detail for greater comic effect.
* DrugsAreBad: Averted; he argues that steroids will only make sports more entertaining.
* HaveYouToldAnyoneElse: On "True Stories I Made Up", he says one of his greatest fears is that he will be the first to hear that one of his friends won the lottery.
* GagPenis: According to him, people made fun of his "fat dick" in school. He says his mom has made this observation as well ("She's a sailor. We don't judge her.")
* HollywoodTourettes: Inverted in that he wonders if there's anyone out there with "polite Tourette's".
* {{Jerkass}}: He's not afraid to say what he thinks.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While on-stage this is undoubtedly true, offstage people have claimed that he comes off as personable and nice. He has also participated in charity events with other comics to aid in disaster relief efforts.
* LampshadeHanging: "Are we down to six people? Great!"
* OlderThanTheyLook: He's 39, but could pass for a 24 year-old.
* OverlyLongGag: "I'm aware I can end the joke at the good part. I choose not to."
** "Do you like how I start jokes with mass appeal and continue 'til only six people have a clue what I'm talking about? [[SelfDeprecation That's not a good style. That doesn't make you famous.]]"
** And it often comes back as a BrickJoke where after a set he'll ask "Are we down to six people? Great!"
** One time he was positively ''thrilled'' when he managed to whittle it down to just one guy.
* RippedFromTheHeadlines: Many of his jokes combine popular celebrity fiascoes of the moment and semi-obscure sports references.
* RuleOfThree: Subverted with the inverted HollywoodTourettes example; he gives only two examples before declaring he's moving on.
* ShoutOut:
** During one of his specials, he ends one of his jokes by saying "Hoooot Pocket". He says [[Creator/JimGaffigan another comedian]] wrote the end of the joke.
** "If you knock on my grandparents' door and you find them lying on the floor, the only thing you are legally allowed to do is a FinishingMove. ''[[Franchise/StreetFighter Hadouken!]]'' That would be mine."
* TakeThatAudience
-->"Go ahead, dumb people. Be offended at a joke that doesn't have a plausible premise."
* ThisIsForEmphasisBitch: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_g3NQjjHoGA One bit revolves around working the phrase "Suck It" into everyday conversation:]]
-->"By the way, if you ever have a job where you have to give speeches in front of people, pepper in the phrase 'suck it.' Very empowering. Just be like 'As you can see from our Powerpoint presentation suck it...' And your clients will be like, 'Did he... did he... did he say suck it? I like this guy... he's a go-getter.'"
* TooSoon: Averted; nothing is sacred to him. Even mocked frequently.
--> Does he let himself down slowly? Nope, flails around like Saddam at the end of a noose. [audience groans] Is it too early for Saddam jokes? ...do you guys miss Saddam?
