Cyril Shaps (13 October 1923 – 1 January 2003) was an English actor. He had a long carrer in British television and film, often playing nervous or neurotic characters. He had four separate guest appearances in Doctor Who^note John Viner in "The Tomb of the Cybermen", Lennox in "The Ambassadors of Death" Professor Clegg in "Planet of the Spiders" and the Archimandrite in "The Androids of Tara", all of which very much fit that description.

His movie roles included a bartender in Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Bechmann in The Spy Who Loved Me.
