Claire Trevor (born Claire Wemlinger; March 8, 1910 – April 8, 2000) was an American actress. She was best known for Stagecoach, Key Largo, and How to Murder Your Wife. In addition to her Academy Award for Best Supporting actress for Key Largo, she was also nominated in the same category for Dead End (1937) and The High And The Mighty.

Originally from the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn, Trevor acted in repertory theatre in Ann Arbor, Michigan before signing as a contract player with RKO Pictures. She retired from the screen in the late 1960s after a successful career of more than three decades, but returned in the 1980s for a handful of movie and TV roles.

Trevor was married to screenwriter Clark Andrews, naval officer Cylos William Dunsmoor, and producer Milton H. Bren, having one child with Dunsmoor. She died of respiratory illness at the age of 90.
