Creator / Brian Osborne

Brian Osborne, (26 March 1940 — July 8 2021), was a British actor best known for playing small roles in the Carry On... Series.

His interest in acting started when he was still at school. During this time, he toured theatre company for children, playing the Pied Piper. In 1966, he appeared on TV for the first time in an episode of Softly, Softly. Following this, he toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company across Europe and America.

In 1971, he was cast as coachman Pearce in Upstairs Downstairs. Osborne left in Series 2 the following year, the same year he had a small role in Carry On Matron. After Matron, Osborne made small appearances in the next five Carry On films, ending his run with Carry On England in 1976. In this period, he also appeared in seven episodes of Carry on Laughing!.

From 1978 to 1980, he played Sam Lawes in The Sandbaggers. Osborne did six episodes, and after that seemed to only do guest appearances in series such as Coronation Street, Minder, and Sorry!.

In 2020, he moved to Gran Canaria to be around his family. He died the following year at the age of 81.
