-->-- '''Adam West''', ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons''

Hello old chums, I'm TV's Adam West. [[JustForFun/RoleAssociation You may recognize me]] as the 1960s ''Series/{{Batman}}''. Once upon a time, I was considered a serious leading man. [[IWasQuiteALooker I was a handsome devil back in that day,]] as you can see here. [[SilverFox I still am, as a matter of fact!]] However, [[IAmNotSpock I couldn't get serious work]] after ''Batman'' ended. I am currently known for [[ActorAllusion portraying eccentric versions of myself]]. I embraced it and even have [[AdamWesting a trope named after me]]. Almost every role I've had since is either a parody of Batman the goofy superhero, Adam West the washed-up actor, or both at once (as in my role on ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents'').

Or my role in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' [[Recap/BatmanTheAnimatedSeriesE18BewareTheGrayGhost "Beware The Gray Ghost"]], where I play a washed-up actor who can't get any decent work because everyone associates me with my role as a cheesy superhero.

I played a washed-up superhero who turned out to be a deluded actor on ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible''. I played ''another'' deluded actor in the pilot for ''Lookwell'', a Creator/ConanOBrien and Robert Smigel-produced pilot. In this version, I had formerly played a detective on TV and thought I could use my actor training to solve real crimes. (Incidentally, before ''Batman'' I co-starred in the third and final season of the crime drama ''The Detectives''. No one ever remembers that!) I also played a super-powered [[SuperPoweredRobotMeterMaids pizza delivery boy]] in ''Disney/MeetTheRobinsons''.

I played a goofy rendition of myself on ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'', in which I drive the Batmobile from the show (which is now a broken down wreck), complain about the Creator/MichaelKeaton Batman films [''*taps his pecs*'' - [[PunctuatedForEmphasis "Pure. West."]]], and dance the "Batusi" while The Simpsons slowly back away. Also ''WesternAnimation/JohnnyBravo''.

I played the Chief of Police in ''VideoGame/MarcEckosGettingUpContentsUnderPressure''.

In the ''WesternAnimation/{{Histeria}}'' episode "The Legion of Super Writers", I voiced a superhero-portrayed Creator/ErnestHemingway. Currently, my biggest role is as the {{Cloudcuckoolander}} [[TheDanza Adam West]], Mayor of Quahog in ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy''.

Interestingly, I played the supervillain [[DarthVaderClone Breathtaker]] in the ''Series/BlackScorpion'' TV series. [[StevenUlyssesPerHero Dr. Noah Goddard]] [[InnocentBystander was an ordinary doctor]] until Black Scorpionís [[CreateYourOwnVillain police father wound him in a shoot out]]. [[DarthVaderClone Breathtaker]] was born and years later, and he will take his life. So Breathtaker could be considered Black Scorpionís ArchEnemy, because ItsPersonal. By the way, Black Scorpion is described as [[Series/{{Batman}} TV Series Batman]] + MsFanservice. Oh, and as a bonus, [[CastingGag Frank Gorshin]] [[Series/{{Batman}} (the Riddler) ]] interpreted supervillain Clockwise.

Bizarrely, I also voiced Mayor Grange, the Mayor of Gotham City in ''WesternAnimation/TheBatman'', [[YouKeepUsingThatWord which begs the question]] of why Creator/ChristopherNolan hasn't cast me in any of his versions of the ''Batman'' movies. Shame. (Bizarrely, you say?)

I played superhero the Galloping Gazelle in the TV episode and video game of ''Series/{{Goosebumps}}'' story ''Attack of the Mutant''. In the TV version, the Galloping Gazelle was washed-up and bailed on the kid protagonist because he thought he was too old for the job.

I even played a lawyer defending a rap star who made a video of himself whizzing on a schoolgirl in ''WesternAnimation/TheBoondocks''. In typical over-the-top West fashion, of course. It's like he.. I mean I.. don't even ''want'' to stop AdamWesting anymore.

I played a cab driver in the low budget superhero spoof film ''Film/SuperCapers'', and am easily the most watchable part in it. I just need to show Chris Nolan that I've still got star power in the movies [[Film/BatmanTheMovie like before]]. It's a crying shame he hasn't asked me to be a part of ''Film/TheDarkKnightSaga''. I can do a great raspy voice.

I appeared in ''Series/ThirtyRock'' as myself at Jack Donaghy's birthday party. After I flubbed the introduction and got thrown out, I complained that I was promised a sandwich and haven't received it. Silly me.

Following the release of a Batman game, a host of the show ''Series/XPlay'' visited me on the show.

Recently, I provided the voice of Bruce Wayne's father Thomas in an episode of ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold''. [[CastingGag As a bonus]] [[DatingCatwoman Julie Newmar voiced Martha Wayne]]. I later returned to provide the voice of Batman's GentleGiant robot "Proto". Then I returned to my most famous role in an animated movie, ''WesternAnimation/BatmanReturnOfTheCapedCrusaders'', alongside two of my former co-stars.

I also guest starred as Mermaid Man in an episode of ''WesternAnimation/SpongebobSquarepants''.

Fun Fact: I was offered the role of Film/JamesBond in ''Film/DiamondsAreForever'', but [[WhatCouldHaveBeen I respectfully declined]]. Bond should always be played by a Brit. I also have a moose named [[PunnyName Moose Wayne]].

Thanks to an initiative spearheaded by actor Ralph Garman, I've got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame now! Thanks, Ralph.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and at the age of 88, on June 9th, 2017, it was my time to say goodbye. Although I no longer walk among you, I am still with you in spirit. And I am sure many of you pointed your Batsignals up at the sky so I could see them. Batman thanks you. And he shall live on in your hearts forever, old chums. I also left behind one last piece of me as the Caped Crusader, as I had completed my work on ''WesternAnimation/BatmanVsTwoFace'', the sequel to ''Return of the Caped Crusaders'', prior to my departure.

Do keep reading TV Tropes, and make sure to spot my name! [[Series/{{Batman}} Same Bat-Article, same Bat-Index!]]
