Batman/Tarzan: Claws of the Cat-Woman is a 1999 crossover between both Batman and Tarzan, published by Dark Horse Comics (who owned the comic rights to the latter at the time), written by Ron Marz. Taking place in the 1930's, it features the two heroes travelling to the jungles of Africa to return stolen artifacts and thwart the thieving mercenary Finnegan Dent.
This comic contains examples of:
- Adaptational Heroism: While Catwoman is usually morally ambiguous, here she's a wholly benevolent princess only stealing to repatriate what was stolen from her kingdom.
- Adaptational Villainy: Two-Face is even worse then usual, being a greedy, imperalist plunderer even before gaining the scars on his face.
- Adaptational Name Change: Two-Face is named Finnegan Dent rather then Harvey, while Catwoman is Khefretari.
- Expy: Between being a hidden kingdom in Africa that worships the Egyptian pantheon and is home to a benevolent Cat-themed character, Mamnon is very much like Wakanda.
- Panthera Awesome: Jad-Bal-Ja the golden lion shows up as an ally and accompanies the three.
- Thou Shalt Not Kill: Batman as usual believes in this, but Tarzan doesn't, and its reflected in their actions.
