The Astral World is Astral's home world, under threat from the attacks of the Barians. In truth, the Astral World and the Barian World were once one realm, but its inhabitants separated the two in an attempt to remove chaos from their world so that they could achieve Rank-Up. However, removing chaos has only led the Astral World to stagnate and decay, with its citizens falling prey to diseases and despair.

    Eliphas

My name is Eliphas. The one who seeks this world's dream.
Voiced by: Kenji Hamada

The 'god' of the Astral World, Eliphas was created to protect the Astral World from chaos. By expelling any beings with chaos in themselves, Eliphas hoped to help the Astral World Rank-Up. He sent Astral to destroy the Barian World in order to erase chaos entirely, but he feels Astral has been corrupted and seeks to have him purified of the chaos Yuma has infected him with. Eliphas uses a New Order deck focused around the titular New Order monsters and Double Rank-Ups to summon stronger versions of his Xyz monsters.

  • Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: His goal is to have the chosen of Astral World Rank-Up.
  • Big Good: Subverted. While he is the God of Order, this position makes him dangerous and he blames Yuma for corrupting Astral through their relationship.
  • Death by Irony: He's obsessed over constantly ranking up, even using a Rank 13 monster as his final ace, but he gets defeated by Utopia Roots, a Rank 1 monster.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Accuses Yuma of corrupting Astral through their relationship, using words like "impure", "abnormal", and "irregular". Of course, he's talking about chaos, and not that other thing, right?
  • Egyptian Mythology: His motif is very Egyptian, and his New Order monsters are based on Egyptian deities. Furthermore, there's his strict belief of Order Versus Chaos.
  • God of Order: As god of the Astral World, Eliphas represents order and hates chaos. This can make him dangerous, but his opposite number is far worse.
  • Greater-Scope Paragon: He is the leader of the Astral World and the reason for Astral’s mission to collect the Numeron Code and destroy the Barian World.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Somewhat. After being defeated and seeing that he is no longer the right way for his people, this leads him to stop his actions, but Astral is still following his original missions to obtain the Numeron Code and destroy Barian World.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: He sacrificed himself in place of Astral to destroy the Numeron Field. He also gave Astral a copy of Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force before doing so.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: A deconstruction, he utterly despises chaos to the point he sends Astral to destroy the Barian World, and then attempts to execute Astral when he feels he's tainted by chaos. As well as try to destroy Yuma since his mere presence spreads chaos. This is also causing the people of Astral World to become sick since there's no chaos to heal them.
  • Knight Templar: In the aim of saving Astral World he was willing to allow the Human World to be destroyed, and would have Mind Raped Astral in further service of that goal if Yuma hadn't kicked his butt.
  • Light Is Not Good: Very shiny and light-themed, with a goal of Order, but was initially an enemy.
  • The Magic Poker Equation: He can use Shining Draw whenever he feels like it.
  • The Horseshoe Effect: He sent Astral to destroy the Barian World, much like Vector using Doctor Faker to try and destroy the Astral World. He's more like the Barians than either side cares to admit.
  • One-Winged Angel: Zigzagged. He appears before Yuma in a monstrous, inhuman form first. Later, when he's willing to talk, he appears as an angelic man in golden armor which is more human-like, but no less intimidating.
  • Order Versus Chaos: Embodies the Order side of the equation at its worst. This is reinforced in the dub by having "Battle of the Dragons", a theme usually reserved for Numbers, play as he summons New Orders 13: Etheric Amun.
  • Serial Escalation: He uses a RANK THIRTEEN Xyz Monster, New Orders 13: Etheric Amun.
  • Super Power Lottery: Notwithstanding his ability to draw any card he wants, his Xyz monsters are very powerful (though still playing second fiddle to Don Thousand). The highlights are Rank 12 Mahes note  and Rank 13 Amun note

    Ena
A resident of the Astral World who helps Yuma and explains the history of her world to him.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: A trait she shares with the other residents of the Astral World, except Astral and Eliphas.
  • Ms. Exposition: Tells Yuma about the history of the Astral World.
