* AffablyEvil: The most polite of the Mazoku generals but is actually the most treacherous of the lot.
* AlmightyJanitor: Initially the lowest ranked of the generals, [[spoiler: but ends the story as Chestra's second-in-command and (briefly) the Demon King himself.]]

* BigBadWannabe: [[spoiler:Attempts to become the new Demon King by drinking Chestra's blood right after Chestra's defeat. He is immediately stopped by Cornet before he gets to do anything.]]

* CannibalismSuperpower: Absorbs other’s power by licking their blood. He does it to Drum, Sizer and even [[spoiler: Chestra.]]

* DirtyCoward: The moment the odds turn against him, he runs away.

* DragonAscendant: [[spoiler:Becomes Chestra's Dragon by being the only one of the generals left in the end. After Chestra's defeat he attempts to become the BigBad himself, but is immediately stopped by Cornet.]]

* GoldfishPoopGang: Encounters the heroes party far more frequently than any other general, but always manages to survive each encounter. [[spoiler: even the last one]].

* IShallTauntYou: Mocks Sizer when they fight, calling her a “witch” and “worse than the real Mazoku”. [[spoiler: Also does it to Trom when they fight, mocking his resolve and gleefully telling him the gory details of his parents' death.]]

* MagikarpPower: While he's the weakest of the generals at the beginning, his power absorbing ability far outstrips even Bass and Vocal in terms of sheer power. [[spoiler: By the end he possesses the power of himself, Drum, Sizer and ''Chestra''.]]

* NotQuiteDead: For several chapters it seemed like Bsss had killed him before he finally reappears. [[spoiler: This happens every single time he seemingly gets killed. Every. Damn. Time.]]
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler: His true form is a giant, three headed dog. Thanks to his power absorbing ability, Guitar combines it with Drum’s ''own'' One Winged Angel form and Sizer’s wings.]]

* BoobsOfSteel: Not immediately noticeably through her armor, but she has the largest bust of the girls.

The main protagonist. A mysterious man who wields a super-sized violin with magical powers. Contrary to his [[{{Bishonen}} elegant appearance]], he is a [[{{Jerkass}} rude, obnoxious moron who will take advantage of his friends for profit and amusement at every chance he gets.]] However, [[HiddenDepths there's much more to him than meets the eye.]] We later learn that he is the son of [[BigBad Demon King Chestra]] and Pandora, the woman who unleashed demons upon the world. His main goal is to prevent his father's resurrection and rid the world of all Mazoku.

* {{Bishonen}}: He's outright described in the first chapter as beautiful. The contrast between his [[{{Shoujo}} shoujo-style]] appearance and his horrendous personality is a constant source of humor.

* {{Bishonen}}: Hamel even claims he's prettier than Flute!

* {{Bishounen}}: His good looks attract him a lot of female attention and causes Hamel to think he's gay.

* {{Bishonen}}: All of the male members, particularly Sax.

* {{Bishonen}}: His human guise. His true form looks almost the same, save for horns, fangs and claws.

* {{Bishonen}}: As if to compliment all of his other talents, he's very handsome.

* {{Bishonen}}: The face he uses most frequently under his mask is one. [[spoiler: It belonged to the prince of a kingdom he destroyed.]]

* {{Bishonen}}: Despite being an ancient sociopathic demon, Vocal has the physical appearance of a sexy young rock star.
** BishonenLine: [[spoiler: Believe it or not, he becomes even ''better'' looking when he achieves his full power]].

* IWasQuiteALooker: Was [[{{Bishounen}} extremely handsome]] in his youth. [[spoiler: After exhausting his power in the fight against Chestra, he turned into a tiny old man.]]

* {{Bishonen}}: He's just as handsome as Clari.

* TheRival: Set up as one for Clari, as they’re both extremely powerful, [[{{Bishounen}} handsome looking]] mages who are TheAce for their countries and serve as right hand men to their respective rulers. It doesn’t amount to anything [[spoiler: and Harpsicord is killed soon after.]]

* {{Bishonen}}: The Hero and warrior Gravid.

* TheDarkChick: Was this while she was with the Mazoku.

* TheDarkChick: Replaces Sizer as this to the Mazoku after she leaves, relying on manipulating the emotions of his opponents to get them to submit to him.

* BladeOnAStick: Wield spears.

* HundredPercentAdorationRating: She’s a kind, just ruler who cares deeply for her people, and they love her back.

* TheWomanWearingTheQueenlyMask: An odd example. While she's maybe a little ''too'' overly emotional most of the time, she hides her failing health behind a cheery guise.

* TheChick: Stated multiple times to be [[TheHeart the emotional center of the team]] and is the main person responsible for making Hamel into a better person.

* TheHeart: Sizer and Oboe kick her out of her HeroicBSOD when they explain how she is the sole stabilizing factor of the party and without her they'd be incapable of accomplishing what they had. Considering she's one of the main reasons for Hamel, Sizer and Trom's CharacterDevelopment, this is completely true.

* FiveManBand: Intentionally a very generic one.
** TheLeader: The Hero, who is actually referred to as "The Hero" and prone to dramatic speeches about friendship.
** TheLancer: Warrior Gravid, the other handsome man on the team who engages in some generic banter with the hero before dying.
** TheBigGuy: General Kujira, who is a giant whale.
** TheSmartGuy: Great Sage Teordo, a wise old man who calculated the party’s chances of winning.
** TheChick: Princess Recorder, The Hero's girlfriend and the only girl on the team.
* GoodIsDumb: Easily the dumbest characters in the series. Chestra even quits the fight when he sees how incompetent they are.

* AbusiveParents: [[EatsBabies Aside from trying to eat infants to gain power]] [[KinSlayingIsASpecialKindOfEvil own children]] [[OffingTheOffspring just soon after they were born]], he spends the fight with Hamel [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything acting like a psychological abusive parent emotionally putting down the son that's standing up to him]].

* HonestAxe: Parodied. After Raiel’s gold piano falls into the ocean, Poseidon’s wife floats to ask if the piano he lost was the golden one or the silver one. When Raiel points to his gold piano, she gets accuses him of lying and disappears.

* ScrewthisImouttahere: After everyone but him and the hero die, Teordo decides he had enough and takes off.
* TooDumbToLive: All of them except the great sage Teordo, but especially Recroder and Kujira, sea creatures who died because the battle took place on land and they just couldn’t survive out there.

* CoolPet: More or less Raiel's pet and a massive flaming bird.
