After the Federation government was overthrown, she continued her service as a member of the Valden Union Defense Ministry's Division Six, the successor to the Bureau of Intelligence. Under the influence of her team leader and mentor, Gerard Andreas, she became more assertive and slowly recovered from the psychological effects of Hesperus's extensive conditioning. Her HeelFaceTurn was cemented by [[LoveRedeems her relationship with Tate Deva]], the infiltration specialist of Andreas's group, and she slowly developed beyond her TykeBomb origins.

After forty years in Division Six, she was discharged; she began to pursue a career in MTF physics, initially under the alias of "Septima Ascoltare" but later under her given name. At some point, an assassination attempt lead to her hiring Lorelei as a bodyguard. She earned her doctorate with a study of MTF-isolated discrete spaces and their relation to time dilation; this dissertation is considered her only notable academic achievement.
