The "Friends" in his Family, Friends, and Furry Creatures project. Tom Gates
The protagonist. He is in class 5F with Amy, Marcus (unfortunately), Solid, and Norman.
- Abhorrent Admirer: Is this to Amy in the first book.
- Annoying Younger Sibling: So. Very. Much. He plays the caramel wafer trick multiple times on Delia, stays in the bathroom to keep Delia waiting, and laughs when she is grounded after throwing a Wild Teen Party.
- Brilliant, but Lazy: It's even lampshaded that he puts more effort in his drawing than his schoolwork.
- Sweet Tooth / Trademark Favorite Food: Like most boys his age, Tom is very fond of any kind of sugary snack. He loves his caramel wafers the most.
