** Jack is also pretty much cited in-story as ''the'' reason SG-1 has snark built into their foundation at all. He gradually rubs off on the rest of the team over the show's run (enough that Daniel ouright admits in Season Four that he's beeing spending too much time around Jack).

* YouKilledMyFather: It's been his goal since childhood to avenge his father's death by killing Cronus, the Goa'uld who murdered him for failing to win an unwinnable battle. His robot clone ultimately does it for him.

* ElitesAreMoreGlamorous: Jack is most likely an AFSOC Special Tactics Officer. These officers are usually put in charge of squads comprising Pararescuemen, Combat Controllers, and Special Ops Weather Technicians. In Film/StargateContinuum Jack leads a squad of Pararescue jumpers to rescue the downed astronaut Samantha Carter in the North Pole.

Removing as there's no mention of an oath to be siblings.

* BloodBrothers: Although he has shades of this with Teal'c, he really does treat Daniel exactly like a little brother in all aspects, including the endless teasing and the constant worrying.

* BloodBrothers: He and Jack have a very close relationship, and quite frequently behave like real-life brothers, Jack being the older "jock" brother who teases and protects the younger "nerd" brother, Daniel, who often goes to Jack for guidance and support.

* CatchPhrase: "Holy Hannah!" as an exclamation of shock/surprise during the first season or so, though this was dropped before long. There's also her "[[WithDueRespect With all due respect...]]", usually prefacing an argument that she knows O'Neill and/or Hammond really isn't going to want to hear. And "I don't think so," when she's about to take another scientist to school.

Originally First Prime of Apophis, he defected to the [[HumansByAnyOtherName Tau'ri]] after becoming [[DefectorFromDecadence disillusioned]] with the Goa'uld. He probably underwent the most CharacterDevelopment in the entire show, with Daniel as a close second: he gradually assimilated into the Earth culture, as well as developed complex emotions. About the only thing that remains by now of his original SpockSpeak is his CatchPhrase, "Indeed."
