'''Homeworld:''' Akiton
Velloro was raised by a family of ysoki on Akiton and, when he grew too large to scavenge alongside them, opted to pour his energy in the nonlethal gladiatorial games held in the city of Arl. While there, he became close friends with the shobhad gladiator Dhareen, who prompted him to take the Test of the Mountain and climb the peak of Ka, the tallest mountain in the Pact Worlds. During this journey, Velloro experienced true loneliness for the first time, but also came to connect with and understand the physical world around him... and realized his ability to manipulate and control energy fields and molecular structures, which had lain dormant all his life.

He employed his abilities to great effect once he returned to Arl's arena, but permanently left the business when his bosses tried to pressure him into participating in lethal matches. Now he travels the stars, having decided to put his newfound abilities to use in helping those who, like his family, are most in need of help.
----
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: When his bosses tried to make him participate in lethal blood sports to boost their arena's profits, he simply walked out on the business altogether.

She eventually undertook a successful career in biomedicine, focusing particularly on grafts and augmentation, but also created a video channel where she discussed a variety of scientific matters in an entertaining and easily understood format. Her videos gained her enough fame to earn her a sponsorship from Iratha Incorporated as a "science ambassador", leading to "Dr. B." becoming something of a minor celebrity within the Pact Worlds' infosphere.

Yaraesa is the lashunta goddess of wisdom. Raia's boyfriend in Canada...I mean on Triaxus is not named after her.

Daughter of diplomats, Raia learned early that she wanted to know more about as many other races as she could. She joined a renowned academy, where she met and subsequently fell in love with a ryphorian named Yaraesa. Though the two love each other, they both agreed they shouldn't sacrifice their own dreams for the other and continue their relationship from a distance. Raia prefers to facilitate first contact and exchange magical or technological information, taking jobs that let her serve such duties and often paying her way with her own magical skills.

She's also unfailingly loyal to those she considers her friends, and has no issue letting them know how much she genuinely loves them.

* SpacePirates: She joined the Sixth Finger freebooter crew. To he dismay, they turned out to be the "violent thieves in spaceships" type rather than the more romanticized version she had imagined, and she was soon forced to become a space pirate of this sort too to make ends meet.
* WideEyedIdealist: What she was when she fled home. Her pampered life among the wealthy elite of Absalom Station left her poorly prepared for the harsh realities of the world, as she realized when she eventually found herself moneyless and stranded in the Diaspora. Rather than the heroic rogue who stole from the rich to give to the poor that she expected she'd become, she found herself as a glorified patsy for starfaring brigands, forced to steal from and oppress the very same people she'd wanted to protect to scrape together a living for herself.

The leader of the core rulebook iconics, Navasi was born to a wealthy family before she gave it up to steal from the rich and aide the poor. Her dreams were soon dashed as she was forced to adjust to the harsh realities of living on the street and she had to resort to less scrupulous jobs just to take care of herself, joining the Sixth Finger freebooter crew. That changed when she met a purple-haired, tattoed woman who lived the kind of life she'd dreamed of and the two quickly became inseparable. Things soon went wrong when their attempt to sabotage the theft of a relief shuttle was found out and Navasi's partner gave her life so she could escape. She took up the name of her lost love, but was surprised to learn that the tattoos her partner had were symbols of Weydan, a god of discovery and equality famous for taking on mortal form. Today she holds a reputation for being a talented freelance captain who refrains from more lucrative but immoral jobs, still holding onto the hope that her companion had been more than she seemed.

Iseph's first memory was of waking in a black market renewal crèche with a cryptic note written in their own handwriting and a mysterious brand on their chest. When attempts to investigate the mark led to assassination attempts, they fled Aballon to the Diaspora. Disgusted by the prejudice they found, Iseph joined the Android Abolitionist Front, only to abandon them as well when conflicts arose with their handler. Now they mainly serve as a freelance pilot, though they'll take up arms again for a jus cause, particularly against any form of slavery or oppression.

Born to a powerful family, Altronus was slated to become an adata since he was a child, a priestly order who preserved kasatha brains and memories in technomagical temples. He never excelled in his studies, preferring to learn a wide range of subjects rather than focus on any one discipline. This led him to embrace the Cycle, the belief system held by solarians, and led him to join a cosmonastary to train in combat and philosophy. Though he continued on his path to become an adata, this changed when he confronted a gray intruder, unlocking his solarian power. He put his studies on hold and set out to seek further signs of gray infiltration and uncover the conspiracy he's convinced exists.
----

* EnergyBlade: His solar weapon takes the form of a yellow energy blade projecting from his lower right arm.

* ProperlyParanoid: The grays are infiltrating, just like he claims.

The child of a priest, Keskodai was drawn to the faith of Pharasma, goddess of death, when he saw her priests arrive in response to a plague that ravaged his hometown. He became an initiate and eventually worked his way up to become a full-fledged priest. Returning home, he soon fell in love and was married, producing a child named Chkoresk. Still yearning to see the universe, he and his partners came to an agreement: he would leave to wander with Chkoresk and once he was old enough to leave his cradle-jar, he would make the decision whether to stay with them or continue his travels.
