The son of famed Imperial fighter ace Baron Soonter Fel, Jag is an excellent pilot in his own right, and is sent along with his squadron by the Chiss to fight alongside the New Republic against the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion, during which he falls in love with Jaina Solo. However, their relationship had various ups-and-downs due to the events of the [[Literature/DarkNestTrilogy Swarm War]] and the [[Literature/LegacyOfTheForce Second Galactic Civil War]], as well as Jag being forced into becoming the Head of Sate for the Imperial Remnant. They finally married after [[Literature/FateOfTheJedi Abeloth's]] defeat and Jag's resignation from the Head of State office after manipulating Vitor Reige into the position. He eventually becomes the first Emperor of the Fel line.

* ArtisticLicenseBiology: Scars (including his skunk stripe, in this case) aren't genetically passed down, but his descendants naturally have skunk stripes.

* OlderSidekick: Although Thrawn's actual age was unknown, Pelleon was in his sixties while serving under him, and physical older if not chronologically older.

* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: Several times stories show Palleon, even as Supreme Commander, is hamstrung by some of the rules the Imperial Remnant follows, but tries to find as much of a workaround as possible. And sometimes he just goes "kriff it" and ignores them.

* DarkHorseVictory: During Palpatine's rule amongst the various Force users, [[TheChessmaster manipulative schemers]] and mad geniuses serving him probably no-one would have pegged this competent but unremarkable seeming officer would ultimately become the Empire's true leader.

* MistakenForRacist: His first meeting with New Republic dignitaries gets off to a poor start when he brushes right past Borsk and his fellow Senators, who immediately assume he's another specist, power-hungry Imp, and seems legitimately confused when Wedge points out he's caused a diplomatic cluster-fluck, because they were just ''politicians''. He has to point out he had already greeted Kre'fey, who's just as alien as his cousin Borsk, without problem.

* TheDragon: To Thrawn, Warlod Treuten Teradoc, and then Daala. After Daala placed him in command of Imperial forces, he stops searching for someone to serve and decides to save what he can of the Empire himself.

* RedeemingReplacement: Pellaeon's leadership of the Empire officially marks it's moving from the BigBad to a morallly greyer but mostly good force.
