The Commonwealth is corrupt, not idiotic, and they aren't going to help a well known Commonwealth hater.]]

* RealityEnsues: Sir Deluge's instinct of self-preservation in contrary to his race's GloryHound nature allowed him to survive more fights than most of his peers. As the survivor of many battles, he managed to rise through the ranks just by not dying. [[spoiler:Likewise, abandoning the capitol and your squadron during a siege is a real quick way to throw out all of that prestige and glory.]]
