Mike

The main protagonist and a human transformed into a Treecko and sent to the world of Pokémon.
  • Adaptational Wimp: The player in the games is able to battle right off the bat. Mike knows no moves initially and his first attempt at battling consists of him waving his fists in the air.
  • The Pollyanna: Downplayed; he's not exactly cheery or excitable, but he justifies being blasé about losing his memories with the fact that "it's not like crying about it will make it better".
  • Rookie Male, Experienced Female: Justified; Mike has only just arrived in this world and led a sedentary lifestyle beforehand while Aria has had plenty of experience.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Says "fuck" or a form thereof no less than eight times in the first chapter alone.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Things keep happening differently from in the games, frequently surprising him.

Aria

Mike's partner.
  • Adaptational Badass: Shows no fear when Team Skull steal her Relic Fragment and chases after them by herself without asking for Mike's help, whereas the partner from the games is fearful and asks the player for help. She thoroughly pounds their asses with little help from Mike.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Mike helps in the first battle against Team Skull by throwing Blast Seeds. Aria clouts him on the head with the metallic protrusion on the back of her paw for almost getting her caught in the Blast. She also puts him through a brutal training regimen in Marowak Dojo.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Says sorry and asks Mike if he's okay after pinning him down. She's not so nice about it after that, though.
  • In-Series Nickname: Geld the purple Kecleon calls her "Arrie".
