->'' "Hey, buddy. You didn’t think you could outrun us forever, did you?” ''
A Talon Mercenary who was originally a part of Baptiste's squad, and his former friend.
-----
* AffablyEvil: Mauga presents himself as an easy going and impressionable man, capable of "drawing in strangers like they're old friends". His friendship with Baptiste is genuine, [[spoiler: which why he let him leave Talon and escape Monti Christi. Even in the present day, he'd rather have him back at Talon than kill him.]]
* {{BFG}}: Two of them, just like Talon's Heavy Assault units.
* BarbarianLonghair: A wild black mane with a skunk stripe.
* BarrierWarrior: In addition to his guns, he also carries an energy shield with him.
* BeingEvilSucks: Implied. He appears to be jovial and enjoys his work, but he genuinely believes he lives in a CrapsackWorld with little to no good people in it. He doesn't seem to be happy about it.
* BigBadFriend: He's the main antagonistic force of "What You Left Behind", and he was former comrades with Baptiste.
%%* BloodKnight:
* CoolShades: He's sporting sunglasses when he reunites with Baptiste, and still wears them when on the job.
* TheCynic: He believes that there are no good people in the world. So he takes solace in becoming a BloodKnight.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Baptiste once saw him crush a man's throat through his combat armor.
* TheDreaded: There are moments in the short story where Mauga struck genuine fear in Baptiste, to the point where he compared Mauga to a demon. When Mauga first encountered him in the present, Baptiste didn't bother trying to escape knowing Mauga would stop him easily.
* EvenEvilHasStandards:
** His reaction to Sainclair, a former Overwatch handler, offering to sell out Overwatch. He gives Baptiste a knowing look; he and Baptiste became who they are because they needed money or had nowhere else to go, whereas Sainclair ''chose'' to watch Overwatch burn. He follows up with this line:
--->'''Mauga:''' There really are no good people left.
** After learning about Captain Cuerva's death at Baptiste's hands, he casually admits he never liked him either.
* MeaningfulName: His name is Samoan for "mountain" and his pictures show that he towers over Baptiste and the other Talon troops.
* ScaryBlackMan: So much so that he even scares Baptiste.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: He is depicted with unusual red eyes, which highlights how much of a violent behemoth he is.
* SlasherSmile: His default look in most of his pictures.
* TattooedCrook: He has Samoan Tattoos.
* TreacheryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: Discussed and defied, he has a low opinion of Sainclair for offering to betray Overwatch. For all of his and Baptiste's faults, neither of them would betray their employers for the sake of it.
* UncertainDoom: His last scene in "What You Left Behind" involved him starting a firefight against Baptiste, attempting to bring him back to Talon, resulting in a massive explosion that totals the area. Baptiste survives thanks to his ImmortalityField and gets away, but Mauga is nowhere to be found. Baptiste suspects he survived, but there isn't any proof one way or the other.

For Want Of A Nail cleanup, finding appropriate new trope (most are non-applicable due to not being character-specific).

* ForWantOfANail: As it turns out, for all of his skills as TheAce, if he just kept even a ''little bit'' of a closer eye on his wife's safety... well, a lot of lives (including his own) would've been saved.

[[folder: Claire Hopper - ''Canada'']]
!!Claire Hopper
!!!'''Affiliation:''' Toronto Transit Commission
!!!'''Appearances (story mission):''' ''Liberation''

An omnic who lives in Toronto and finds herself right in the middle of Null Sector's invasion. She contacts and assists Overwatch during their evacuation of the city.
----
* ActionSurvivor: Is a cvilian with no military training, yet she managed to use the underground tunnel system to avoid Null Sector's troops and tried to smuggle several other omnics out with her.
* FieryRedhead: The cables on her head that emulate hair are red. While she starts the story scared out of her wits, she soon becomes increasingly angry at what Nul Sector is doing to her fellow Omnics, to the point she expresses the desire to fight them herself. She also isn't shy about chewing out Reggie about his SkewedPriorities.
* IKnowMortalKombat: Defied. During the last stretch of the ''Liberation'' mission, Claire or Reggie will ask for weapons, so they can defend themselves. When the healer of the team asks whether they know how to handle a gun, Claire can respond that she's played a lot of shooters and ask if that counts. The healer will then emphatically tell their teammates not to give either Claire or Reggie a gun.
* TheLoad: Overwatch has to escort her and Reggie out of the city while simultaneously protecting them from the Subjugators. Downplayed with Claire, as her hacking skills and knowledge of the tunnel system means she does pulls her weight in her own way.
