Mona
The lead protagonist, Mona is a three-year-old girl who loves to visit her Nana.
- Affectionate Nickname: Nana usually calls her "Sweet Pea".
- Baby Talk: Due to being a toddler, her speech is often slurred and incoherent, particularly in the shorts. This lessened in the full episodes, and in her TikTok appearances.
- Charlie Brown Baldness: Her only visible hair is a pair of small Girlish Pigtails.
Russell
Nana's dog, and Mona's most frequent playmate.
- In-Series Nickname: Mona refers to him as "Russer".
- The Unintelligible: No one can understand him because he's a dog.
Nana
Mona's maternal grandmother. Her house is the titular "Nanalan'".
- Early Installment Character-Design Difference: In the shorts, her puppet essentially looked like a skinny yam with humanoid features. She also had brown hair. In the full series, her puppet gained a more human form, and her hair became white instead of brown.
- True Blue Femininity: In some episodes, like "Night Night Nana", she wears a blue floral dress.
Mr. Wooka
Nana's neighbour and love interest.
- Sudden Name Change: He was referred to as "Mr. Wilkins" in the pilot.
