* Leatherman: Doria looks like this, resembling the ManlyGay stereotype of a biker or trucker.

** [[spoiler:Locria]] = It's a little hard to tell, but they appear to wear white. [[spoiler:Makes sense; white is considered the absence of color, which fits Locria's status as a traitor]].

* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: He shock Salsa and badmouth him, most of the time, for kicks and threaten to kill Salsa's girlfriend if he doesn't obey.

* LonelyAtTheTop: He has all the technology from several exploits across time and the appraisal from the people of this world, and whenever there's someone that won't give him the attention or love he craves, he simply brainwashes them. Despite reigning as "King P", he still echoes some sentiment towards his lost friend Ness, and [[spoiler:is stranded in this time period after being locked out of all other timelines.]]

* TheManBehindTheCurtain: The man that got Tazmily Village corrupted, brought the Pigmasks to the world, permanently altered nature with chimeras and intends to bring the world to an end is [[spoiler:an elderly {{manchild}} that cannot even walk on his own anymore]].

* BathtubScene: Played with and averted (though really, what were you expecting from 16-bit overworld sprites?). It merely ''[[BaitAndSwitch appears]]'' to be Kumatora (it was actually [[spoiler:Ionia]]) in a hot spring, and the second time when it's ''actually'' her in the shower, she isn't actually seen and in fact gets out all dressed up the second the player tries to peek (funnily, you ''have'' to approach the shower door to proceed with the plot).

* CovertPervert: Only one instance, but when Kumatora is showering, you (as Lucas) have to approach the door to proceed with the game. Not really a ShowerScene, though, as she comes out all dressed after you try to enter.

* HeavySleeper: Phrygia. In chapter 7 she anticipated that she'd be asleep by the time the heroes arrived to pull her needle, so she decided to leave written down any important information they might need.

* MultiGenderedOutfit: The six Magypsies are [[NonHumanNonBinary genderless snail people]] based on gender nonconforming friends of Creator/ShigesatoItoi, resembling affectionate stereotypes of CampGay bearded drag queens. Most of their clothing leans heavily femme, but Doria dresses like a lavender {{leatherman}} with suspenders and heels, while Lydia looks more Shakespearean with a ruff or boa. They all guard the [[CosmicKeystone Seven Needles]] with their lives, and each one passes on a TragicKeepsake to Lucas's party in the form of a razor paired with a tube of lipstick.

* OurFairiesAreDifferent: The Magypsies — [[FetishRetardant and how!]]
* ParentalSubstitute: [[spoiler:All of them, but especially Ionia, to Kumatora.]]

* {{Wholesome Crossdresser}}s: The Magypsies are all psychic guardians for good [[spoiler:except Locria/Fassad]].

* BigEater: Fassad ''loves'' eating bananas. [[spoiler:So much that they're the only item that you can get after defeating him.]]

* KavorkaMan: There are many young women in his fan room in the Empire Porky Building.

The residents of Tazmily village

* TookALevelInJerkass: Almost everyone in the village after they let Fassad and the Pigmask army modernize it. They become distant from their neighbours, they are overall more self-centered, and they look down upon anyone that refuses to embrace change. This is ''somewhat'' justified as it seems it to be because of the mind-controlling aspects of the Happy Boxes rather than out of their of free will.

* KavorkaMan: There are many attractive girls (who were obviously brainwashed) in his fan room in the [[spoiler:Empire Porky Building]].

* OutsideContextProblem: [[spoiler:Until Leder reveals it to the party, they had no idea the man behind all the suffering they had recently suffered could be a human from another timeline.]]

* ArmsAndArmorThemeNaming: Believe it or not, she is named for hinawajū, a type of matchlock gun, which [[JustForPun matches]] her husband's name.

* BlackSheep: [[spoiler:Of the Magypsies, since he betrayed them to serve King P.]]

* {{Catchphrase}}: Retains his signature [[spoiler:"Spankety spankety spankety" taunt from ''Earthbound''. The gap between this incredibly childish insult and his decrepit old body makes it all the more jarring this time around.]]

* OreOnna: She use the very masculine pronoun ''ore'' in Japanese.

* InsistsOnPaying: During his stay in the Yado Inn in Tazmily Village, he insists to pay money for the night (even though the townspeople never use or heard the term "money"). Unlike most examples, this is meant to be seen as villainous rather than humble, since he's rejecting their hospitality in favor of making it a cold transaction.
