* BitchInSheepsClothing: On the surface he appears to be a trustworthy, dorky guy who cares for Chloe, [[spoiler: but his nice guy act is just a cover to hide his demented lust for her. When Chloe is forced to confront him on this he drops all kindness he had and starts threatening her.]]

* DoggedNiceGuy: Played straight as a low-key yearning type initially. Eliot makes his feelings for Chloe obvious but doesn't push her too hard, seemingly willing to just hang around as friends so he can be there if she changes her mind. However, it turns out that he's got an unhealthy obsession with her and feels that he deserves her love. Once he grows tired of waiting, he turns nasty.

* EvilCounterpart: To Warren. They're both shy, nerdy boys with romantic interest in both games' protagonists. But while [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy Warren takes Max's potential romance with Chloe quite well]], Eliot [[spoiler:snaps when Chloe takes interest in Rachel. He uses his concern for Chloe's safety to mask his jealousy and even goes as far as to [[WouldHitAGirl shove Chloe if she tries to walk past him]], throw objects in frustration and/or [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking hug Chloe against her will.]]]]

* {{Beware the Nice|Ones}} [[BewareTheQuietOnes and Quiet Ones]]: If Chloe succeeds in defending Nathan from Drew, Samantha's snickering will provoke Drrew into telling her to shut the fuck up. She immediately retorts by telling him (literally) to do the same, much to Chloe's approval.

* TheCutie: Much like Max, she's a nice girl trying to do what's right and has absolutely no problem befriending the likes of Chloe or ''Nathan'' of all people.

* InnocentBlueEyes: A cute, gentle and reserved girl with blue eyes.
* MoralityPet: Played with. If Chloe's choices has impacts on Nathan accepting Samantha's friendship, she will become this to him, as her support helps Nathan give an amazing performance as Caliban during the play of ''The Tempest'' (instead of messing up his lines and running off) and he will even give her ice cream at the hospital if she got injured by a cyclist. Unfortunately, if Chloe fails to make them friends, Nathan's emotional state will deteriorate and he can even go as far as [[KickTheDog breaking two of her ribs]].

* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: [[spoiler: Potentially; if Chloe encourages her to befriend Nathan, but the player doesn't make enough choices that benefit him, then in Episode 3, she will be hospitalized courtesy of Nathan ''breaking two of her ribs'' due to "unwanted advances". Even if Nathan ends up on good terms with her, she's still injured by a cyclist while hanging out with him.]]

* PutOnABus: Sometime after the prequel, since she does not appear or is mentioned in the main game at all.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Seems to be one for Max (to whom Chloe internally compares her), being a shy, soft spoken brown haired girl who sides with Chloe.

* WhyDidYouMakeMeHitYou: After shoves Chloe into a desk he will ask Chloe why she made him do that. A typical thing that an abuser will say.

* {{Gaslighting}}: [[spoiler:Eliot shows typical signs of a toxic gaslighter, even before showing his true colors, like he usually deflects Chloe's concerns with little-to-no advise and promises "he'll always have her". Later on in episode 3, Eliot pulls off a WhyDidYouMakeMeHitYou, [[KickTheDog reminds her of her dad's death]], and everything bad happening is somehow just because she's more interested in Rachel than him. He's [[JerkWithAHeartOfJerk not concerned for Chloe's well-being, but was trying to guilt-trip her as an effort to make her question her relationships with the good things in her life]]. This comes to show that, even ''if'' Chloe had ''any'' interest in him... he wouldn't exactly be the "nurturing" type of boyfriend.]]

* HiddenDepths: Subverted. Chloe finds some poetry he's written that is clearly inspired by her and is impressed by it, but it later turns out that he just have an unhealthy obsession with her.

* JerkassHasAPoint: Although clearly {{Gaslighting}}, he's right that Rachel has had some negative effects on Chloe's life (like getting expelled/suspended from Blackwell and confronting dangerous criminals for Rachel's sake) and has made her do questionable or outright illegal things (like breaking into the DA's office, stealing his money and tampering with evidence). However, Eliot fails to realize the good things Rachel has done for Chloe (such as protecting her from the "skeevy guys", trying to cover for her in Wells' office and basically being her only real friend, a position Eliot himself claims but doesn't exactly live up to). It quickly becomes clear that Eliot is only using Rachel's flaws in an attempt to convince Chloe to reciprocate his infatuation rather than acting out of any genuine concern for Chloe's well-being.

* BewareTheQuietOnes: If Chloe succeeds in defending Nathan from Drew, her snickering from Chloe owning Drew will provoke the latter into telling her to shut the fuck up. Samantha will immediately retort with telling him (literally) to do the same.

* DoomedByCanon: She doesn't die but we know that no matter what, her efforts to help Nathan won't suceed.

* PrecisionFStrike: If you choose to defend Nathan during his fight with Drew North, Samantha will step in and throw the F-bomb at him as well.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Seems to be one for Max (Who Chloe internally compares her to), being a shy, soft spoken brown haired girl who sides with Chloe.

* UncertainDoom: Assuming you got her and Nathan to become friends, what became of her as of 2013? Considering [[spoiler:Nathan's.. ''interests'' later in life.. Though, in that case, the Dark Room has no binders labeled "Samantha", so she thankfully wasn't a victim]]. At best, they just drifted apart due to Nathan's increasingly toxic influences or she just moved away.

* MsFanservice: Heck, even Max says that she is a "gorgeous cheerleader."

* ShipperOnDeck: Obviously knows about Warren's crush on Max, so she keeps trying to nudge Max toward him.

* DesignatedVictim: Moreso than Chloe! Max literally has to save Alyssa OncePerEpisode. If Max is successful all five times, [[spoiler: Alyssa eventually returns the favor by saving Max]].
