Characters / Knightmare Series 8 Teams

Go To

Team 1

Dungeoneer: Richard
Advisors: Angela, Rebecca, and Rowena
From: Bracknell
Object of quest: Crown
Level attained: Level 1
Cause of death: Incorrect clue object choice
  • Epic Fail: One of only three teams from Series 4—8 (the other two both being from Series 5) who failed to make it out of Level 1.
  • Failed a Spot Check: The scroll they came across in the clue room clearly hinted at taking the green blade which belonged to Stiletta. Without it, she refused to give them the combination to the trapdoor at the end of Level 1...
  • Kill It with Fire: ...where they met their end when, having pursued them from the clue room, Bhal-Shebah inflicted this upon them after asking himself...
Bhal-Shebah: Oh good. A tasty helping of dinner. Now the only question to ask is: cooked or raw?

Team 2

Dungeoneer: Daniel
Advisors: Benjamin, Gideon, and Justin
From: London
Object of quest: Sword
Level attained: Level 3
Cause of death: Lack of correct clue object
  • Bloodier and Gorier: When Daniel was hit by a blade, the entire screen turned blood red. It looked more like a tin of red paint being spilled than actual blood, but it was as bloody you're ever likely to see in a children's show.
  • Poor Communication Kills: While they failed to obtain something that would have helped them by slowing down the Corridor of Blades or, as Treguard believed, having given away the Sight potion to Bartram earlier, their ultimate downfall was the advisors' descending into confused yelling as soon as Daniel entered the corridor, resulting in him being quickly sliced-and-diced.
Treguard: What Daniel needs is a Sight potion or a seeing-eye spell, but you've got neither. All you've got is a red key that you don't seem to need...

Team 3

Dungeoneer: Nathan
Advisors: Karen, Steven, and Catherine
From: Southampton
Object of quest: Cup
Level attained: Level 3
Cause of death: Failure to acquire vital magic
  • Poor Communication Kills: As with the previous team, while they were hamstrung by not obtaining a spell that would have made the fireball chamber easier, the quest ended when the advisors panicked and mistakenly guided Nathan into a hole that had just been punched into the floor.
Treguard: Some extra magic might have helped you with this very difficult puzzle, Team. And you could have got that magic from Maldame. But you didn't, did you?

Team 4

Dungeoneer: Michael
Advisors: Ben, Hadyn, and Ben
From: Bristol
Object of quest: Sword
Level attained: Level 2
Cause of death: (possibly) Incorrect clue object choice
  • Ambiguous Situation: It was implied that they could have gotten a FLOAT spell from Sidriss had they taken the brain pills and given them to her. Without that, they chose the exit out of the trapdoor chamber in Level 2 and were promptly finished off before they could exit.
Treguard: FLOAT spell or no FLOAT spell, there was only one way down to Level 3, and you didn't take it.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted due to there being two Bens on the team.
  • Stripped to the Bone: A variation. In Level 2, the team learnt from a spyglass that a rogue skeletron was on the loose and they had to create a FILLET spell in order to dispose of it.

Team 5

Dungeoneer: Rebecca
Advisors: Julie, Natalie, and Emma
From: Dorchester & Weymouth
Object of quest: Shield
Level attained: Level 2
Cause of death: Incorrect clue object choice
  • Luck-Based Mission: They were given no hints as to what clue objects they would need for Level 2, and their failure to take the Fireball Brandy ended up ensuring that Rebecca would become the last-ever dungeoneer (until the YouTube Geek Week special, that is) to fail their quest.
Treguard: Well, you didn't have much of a chance there, girls - at least, not without a weapon of defence. A couple of fireballs might have done the trick, but then you... didn't pick up any, did you?

Team 6

Dungeoneer: Dunston
Advisors: Alan, Oliver, and Alex
From: St. Albans
Object of quest: Crown
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: They were the show's final winners, albeit in somewhat controversial circumstances after they were allowed to bypass Level 2 via a short-cut through the Corridor of Blades. Also a literal example of this trope, considering their quest was for the crown.

Team 7

Dungeoneer: Oliver
Advisors: David, Mathew, and Anthony
From: Leicester and Melton Mowbray
Object of quest: Shield
Level attained: Level 3 (bypassed Level 2)
  • Left Hanging: Much like the last teams from Series 2—4, their quest was merely stopped when the series (and Knightmare as a whole) came to an end.
