Twilight Sparkle
The ruler of Equestria and the Princess of Friendship. Once a unicorn who always had her nose in the books, she became the Element of Magic once she met five other ponies and worked together with them to defeat a great evil. Afterwards Twilight has made every effort to learn everything she could about friendship. After becoming an alicorn by finishing one of Starswirl the Bearded's unfinished spells, Twilight and her friends traveled to many distant lands and even opened a school to spread the message of friendship all across Equestria to unite all of the races together. Many moons later after receiving visions in her dreams from the Spirit of Harmony, Twilight believes Flurry Heart has a great destiny before her and plans to guide her niece with her wisdom and knowledge.
- Expy: Plays the same role as her mentor Princess Celestia to Flurry Heart.
- Dreaming of Things to Come: She received dreams from the Spirit of Harmony warning her that a great evil is about to threaten Equestria once again.
- The Mentor: Twilight serves as this for Flurry Heart.
Pinkie Pie
A happy cheerful party pony and the Element of Laughter. Pinkie Pie's purpose in life is to make everypony happy and she believes the best way to do so is by having a party. While working part time as a baker for Sugarcube Corner, she leaves Ponyville from time to time to travel with her boyfriend Cheese Sandwich so she can throw parties all across Equestria.
- Big Fun: She's still the same bundle of energy, but she's much heavier.
- Formerly Fit: Years of eating sweets made Pinkie balloon up considerably.
Rainbow Dash
A fast, brash, and cocky pegasus who is the Element of Loyalty. Rainbow's dream was to become a member of the Wonderbolts and she eventually succeeded. But after meeting and falling in love with a stallion Rainbow Dash gave up her dream to stay true to another one: taking care of her family.
- Boyish Short Hair: Her mane style changed to a bob cut while maintaining her tomboy attitude.
- Character Development: Went from a self absorbed pegasus to a loving and caring mother. She even lampshades the change.Rainbow Dash: I was immature and selfish back then. I was an Element of Harmony, but I still made lots of mistakes and usually thought only of myself. Over time I started to realize this and I wised up, but I still continuously fell short. Getting into the Wonderbolts forced me to be more responsible and ready for anything. Meeting Thunderhead humbled me and taught me how important family is.
- Happily Married: To Thunderhead, and she is now a stay-at-home mom to their three children.
Fluttershy
A shy and meek pegasus who is the Element of Kindness.
Applejack
A honest and hard working farm pony who is the Element of Honesty.
- Happily Married: To Tex who helps her run Sweet Apple Acres and take care of their twins Apple Chip and Annie Smith.
Rarity
A unicorn fashionista and the owner of Carousel Boutique who is the Element of Generosity. While once she lived in Ponyville, Rarity has since moved to Canterlot to further expand her business.
- Out of Focus: Unlike her friends who each had a chapter about themselves, Rarity has yet to make an appearance. She shows up in the story "My Big Fat Pink Wedding" only to be kidnapped and replaced by a Changeling offscreen. She is eventually rescued though.
