Protagonists
Android 21
- Adaptational Angst Upgrade: In her storyline, Android 21 is Dr. Gero's ex-wife turned into an android (or an android based on her model, it's never specified) who was programmed to feed on others. Here, she is confirmed to be a transformed person after she was captured trying to escape the army with her son and was intended to be in charge of the androids and a backup leader in case Gero died. However, her Majin Buu cells interfered with her programming making her focus her hunger instead.
- All Your Powers Combined: She is an bio-android with the DNA of Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, and multiple scientist including her original self. She has all their powers and combined intellect.
- Heroic Sacrifice: She was willing to sacrifice herself in order to kill her evil counterpart. Subverted a bit as she survives.
- Spared By Adaptation: Android 21 was not killed by the Spirit Bomb at the end of her story. Instead, she was sent to Future Trunks's timeline.
Future Gohan
- Back from the Dead: Future Gohan is resurrected through unknown means.
- Handicapped Badass: Gohan fights with Goku Black with one arm. Subverted in that he still loses.
- One-Armed Warrior: Even after getting revived, he still has one arm.
Antagonists
Evil Android 21
The evil counterpart to Android 21. Evil Android 21 (nicknamed Evil 21) she is essentially the opposite of 21 in every way in terms of personality.
Goku Black
- Arc Villain: Goku Black is the main antagonist of the first Saga.
- Beware the Superman: He has the Strength and abilities of Goku.
