They can create additional [[MonsterOfTheWeek Jikochuu]] by amplifying the darkness in someone's heart (their "Psyche") and then forcibly separating the contaminated Psyche from its human body.

The King removes the Crown to save Ange, and coupled with his own selfish desires to keep Marie Ange alive, unleashes the essence from it's prison. It eventually corrupts the King, turning him into King Jikochuu and kicking off the events of this series in full swing.
