An ORBITAL operative from the CIA.

Dark and Troubled Past: He was locked away in a military prison on an, initially, undisclosed charge and left to rot before Maddox pulled him out.
Mundane Utility: He uses the heat emanating from the ORBITAL plane's electronics to keep pastries warm (despite the plane featuring a galley).
Roaring Rampage of Revenge: He eventually reveals to Finola that he'd befriended an Afghan woman who tried to help him track down a high-value target but got killed during the subsequent raid. Not long afterward, he came across a group of Taliban in a cave and slaughtered them to avenge her death, leading to him being arrested on war crime charges.
Semper Fi: Prior to joining the CIA, he was a marine serving in Afghanistan.
Shell-Shocked Veteran: Bryan's experiences in Afghanistan left him cynical and evasive toward personal questions.
Sweet Tooth: He speaks adoringly of Peeps and how they taste even better stale. He also has a preference for very sweet coffee drinks.
Tragic Keepsake: He holds onto a photo of a young woman to remind him of his worst failure.

Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Finola is the Responsible Sibling, having pursued an academic/scientific career and taken on the task of handling their late father's affairs, while her sister Dee is the Foolish Sibling; Finola claims that Dee was their father's favorite who "got away with everything," and is a recovering drug addict.
Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Finola frequently takes this stance, arguing for the use of debris to help people even when it goes against protocol and telling a man the truth of what's going on, allowing him to join his family, when she's been ordered to give him the cover-up version of the story.
Women Are Wiser: Finola is the more empathetic of the main duo, trying to connect with Bryan and openly sympathizing with those involved in their cases.

A CIA officer who heads up the American side of ORBITAL.

Ambiguous Situation: He has off-book, clandestine meetings with Russians, but the exact nature hasn't been revealed yet.
The Determinator: His son is badly disabled, but he refuses to give into despair and works hard on his son's rehabiliation.
Mundane Utility: He repeatedly heaves a folding chair through a teleportation device as a form of stress release.
