* TakeThat: Very obviously representative of Creator/NCSoft closing down ''City of Heroes'', with Hurricane Atlas representing the action by trying to destroy Titan City, killing American Star (the Statesman of the game), and forcing Atlas 33 to rebuild aka make Missing Worlds Media create ''City of Titans''.

* CyberPunk: A classy version, since they combine it with civilized Mafia aesthetics.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Invoked. They were pretty damn tough as normal mobsters, but were GenreSavvy enough to realize there was no way to keep up without their own superpowered edge. Hence, their cybernetics.
* TheMafia: The result of an otherwise conventional crime family turning to any way of keeping up with superheroes.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: CyberPunk transhuman Sicilian mobsters.
